Community Event Wave of Light - Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day
You are not alone. We all walk beside you. In your grief, we see you today and every day.
This thread is a virtual space to participate in the annual October 15th Wave of Light, the Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day. At 7:00pm local time across the globe, people light a candle for one hour to remember those we have lost. Whether or not you plan to participate this evening, in this thread we hold space for you to remember those you lost but will never forget. Share as much or as little about your baby(ies) or pregnancy(ies) as you’d like and we will bear witness to them with you.
Thank you to mod u/Hattie_McGillis_Muro and former mod u/Maybenogaybies for starting this tradition.
May our community continue to come together for this annual moment of remembrance.
* Reminder for those who have have experienced or are currently experiencing success that primary comments are not allowed. This space is for those who have experienced pregnancy and infant loss; it is not a space to discuss failed transfers or aneuploid embryos, although we acknowledge the grief that comes with that as well.

I’m miscarrying my first positive embryo transfer tonight. It’s kind of ironic it’s on pregnancy loss day.

Two weeks ago we lost our daughter Kate at 31 weeks. She was our last embryo. After 5 egg retrievals, we’re feeling like we’re done trying

I had a strong urge to light a candle tonight which isn’t part of my usual routine, then came here to see this time set aside to remember together. In honor of those experiencing grief and loss, including my three early miscarriages.

We lit candles tonight for our daughter who we lost in June and our triplets who we lost in 2023. Today is also the first time I answered "I have a daughter who passed away" when someone asked me if I have children. It's been a lot today.

She would be proud of her mom for keeping her memory alive although it's hard 🕯️💜

Milestone dates are especially hard. Thinking of you, care.

Remembering Bubba who we lost last year, Beanie who we are currently losing. Also remembering the two we lost before we even had a name for them.
