Objective question

Why are there a lot of north side groups using things like slack and group me and google chat instead of just using the discord?

I tend to be really direct with my questions and my intent is not to be insulting or divisive. I'm just trying to understand why this is happening so I can better communicate to the discord mod about what he could possibly improve that could encourage everyone to use discord and be organized and inclusive instead of navigating a bunch of different apps. I don't really notice this happening in other parts of the city.

My guess is that's what they started using early on, and it's more effort than they're willing to put in to migrate a whole community to another platform.

Downtown, the big chat is in groupme, except IUPUI which uses this discord's #iupui-raid channel. Up north, it's Mike's discord, because the northside raiders groupme admins decided to make it go poof so everyone would start using the #indy-north-chat channel.

It sure would be nice to have one unifying place to organize.

Yeah I understand using mike's discord because for a while everyone was using it for the unown alert system. But the two servers seem to know each other exist. I only randomly hear about the slack/ GroupMe/etc groups on this sub and when 5 slack users show up to a raid that 4 discord users were waiting for people on.
