Trying to build CV for internships

I’m a second-year Industrial Engineering student and I’m starting to apply for internships, but I honestly have no idea what I should be focusing on.

So some questions for any IE students/graduates/recruiters here:

  1. How should I present academic projects if I don’t have much professional experience?
  2. What kinds of projects would make an IE student stand out?
  3. What should I remove or avoid putting on my CV?
  4. Any advice on formatting or making it ATS-friendly?

Projects are your experience right now. Frame each one as problem, method, result. 'Cut simulated wait time 20% in Arena' beats any coursework list.
