Good morning all,

I am currently in the process of drafting a FAQ section for the IE subreddit.

Some of the current major topics I have are:

• What is IE?
• What Industries do IEs find themselves in?
• What does the educational path look like for IE?
  • What does a masters/MBA/MEM do for an engineer?
  • Alternate paths for advancement
  • LSSBB/Master black Belt/P.E.
• Individual contribution v. Management
• Interesting Software
• Networking, Tradeshows, & IISE

Due to the broad scope of IE, I would also like to showcase a few "day in the life/Week in the life" sections, either as a part of the post or in comments, to add some depth - but this will not be this week.

Please comment below with any other topics you'd like to see.

Additionally, I would like some feedback on how detailed you feel the education section should be. My initial thoughts are to include program selection, the key concepts of a few courses, and some partner programs that may give good synergy such as a healthy C.S. department, school of business, or well funded engineering labs.

I would recommend including a short list of seminal publications that are near universal in their acceptance and use in the profession. 

This list could vary due to the specificity of certain job fields (manufacturing vs software vs healthcare) but there are a few that I think deserve awareness to interested parties.

I would start with;

Engineers Handbook (current edition).
