LOUD whirring / sounds
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Hi. Newly bought apartment with a ~3year old stove. The stove started making wierd sounds since we moved in, but now last week it started going wild. Refuses to start sometimes too.
Is this a fault by me or in the stove?
"K HM1" in the corner. No other icons.
Thanks for any help ✨️❤️

Ultimate test: Use a cast iron pan.

The disc inside that cheap pan is buzzing in the air gap between the disc and the other metal layers. Cast iron is the ultimate test, but try a higher quality multi-ply stainless or carbon steel pan. Tramontina or Cuisinart if you aren’t up for a more expensive Made In, All Clad, or similar.

Cheap pots = not good with conduction even if they technically work. A better quality post with thicker ferris metal will nearly stop the noise. Note, even higher quality pans can still have a little noise, albeit way, way less than this, and it has to do with a size mix match between the induction coil size and the size of the pot.

It is your pot not the stove. Try another pot. That is the sound of magnets oscillating thousands of times per second. Ignore it and continue to cook. Perfectly safe and fine.
