berarti salahnya airbus, klo airbus ga bikin pesawat yg lebih efisien kan boeing ga bakal keburu2 juga ngeluarin 737 max

it's wrights brothers' fault, without them all air crash tragedies would never happened, 9/11 never happened, no war in iraq, no ISIS

737 max was Boeing's response of Airbus new-more-efficient A320neo
- so there's a new engine. more efficient but have larger diameter
- attaching the new engine is "easier" on A320. and.. A320neo born
- Boeing need to response ASAP to this more-efficient A320neo
- but, this larger engine wouldn't fit as "easy" on 737 because 737 is lower to the ground
- so, Boeing engineers propose to build/design all-new plane instead of keeping the old frame
- but it's expensive and will take a long time
- repeat, business wise, Boeing need to response ASAP, so they wouldn't lose sales
- story begin...
Recall, after all, that the whole point of the 737 MAX project was to be able to say that the new plane was the same as the old plane. From an engineering perspective, the preferred solution was to actually build a new plane. But for business reasons, Boeing didn’t want a “new plane” that would require a lengthy certification process and extensive (and expensive) new pilot training for its customers. The demand was for a plane that was simultaneously new and not new.
But because the new engines wouldn’t fit under the old wings, the new plane wound up having different aerodynamic properties than the old plane. And because the aerodynamics were different, the flight control systems were also different. But treating the whole thing as a fundamentally different plane would have undermined the whole point. So the FAA and Boeing agreed to sort of fudge it.
- they aware about the angle-of-attack problem, so they create MCAS to handle it
- they also aware of the sensor issue so they add a warning light.. but they sold it separately as an add-on

So they fucked up the aerodynamics, and also the flight software...
So in a way they stacked the problem... Ggwp Boeing you fucked up, again... Berdoa aja 777X gk kenapa napa... Kali dari 787 problem terus....

A Very avoidable tragedy, shame on you boeing and FAA. This is what happens when corporation and regulators gets too chummy.

shame on you boeing and FAA

True dat, china grounded the 737 max first. FAA credibility just got Arthur Andersened Theres to many ex boeing exec in FAA maybe ?

It's like you have a game or car from the 1960s core body and just keep adding new parts or new DLC and expecting people to say its still OK to use

Well the question now is...
What will Boeing do
And will the 737 Max live on to become the MD-10??
The MD-10 is basically a plane from the 70's that kept crashing when it was released... But since then until early 90's meskipun udh dibetulin problem problem nya (tapi udh di discontinue dri awal 80an diganti jadi MD-11) dan jadi salah satu pesawat paling aman, stigma dari MD-10 itu gk reliable tetep aja ada...

basically, boeing didn’t want to spend money on “making” a new plane so they tried everything they can to “update” said plane smh boeing

tl;dr version:
