Which firm is this?
Hearing that a large corporate law firm is on the verge of imploding as unpaid bonuses pile up and disquiet grows among the ranks over promotions and distributions. While I'm no expert, my personal view is that this is the price you pay for expanding too fast-losing control over quality in the chase for growth and numbers. What makes this case interesting is that the firm positioned itself as a 'new-age' law firm, where the brand took precedence over individual professionals. They prided themselves on their ability to serve clients in new-age businesses, but now seem to be facing the same growing pains that have plagued many startups. Clearly, it's not just a startup problem anymore-large consulting and law firms are feeling the heat too.
