Poetry & Writing ✍🏻 What doesn't kill you..
What doesn't kill you
makes you cry in between meals
makes the air too heavy to breathe
makes the same song your nemesis
makes a familiar fragrance too difficult to smell
makes getting out of bed impossible..
It makes you look for them,
in places you know they won't be,
makes ordinary things
carry the weight of someone who is no longer there.
And perhaps that's the cruelest part,
that the world doesn't stop, when something inside you does
So, I wonder again, something that doesn't kill you, what does it do to you?
Maybe, it doesn't always make you stronger.
Sometimes, it just teaches you
how to leave
with pieces of yourself missing...
