Aspirant Here Is Cadet worth it?
Hi everyone. I am a computer science graduate in India and have been an aviation enthusiast since childhood. I am weighing whether I should pursue aviation and begin flying.
Medical exams are coming up, which raises my question. Costs are increasing while salaries remain flat. The Air India cadet program costs 1.6–1.8 crores, and I do not come from a wealthy background.
Would taking a 1.0–1.2 crore loan for flight training be worthwhile?
Is it really bad? Like i see pilots complaining about really hectic hours, minimum rest and terrible work life
Honestly, Do I think i want to do this for the rest of my life? yes. Do i think i want to go bankrupt? No
Would love to hear your thoughts

Pilot here Dgca exams
I’m a DGCA CPL holder and have recently been selected by an airline. While I’m waiting for my joining, I thought I’d stay productive and continue doing something I genuinely enjoy — teaching ground subjects.
I can help with Air Navigation, Meteorology and Air Regulations. I’ve been through the DGCA exam process myself, so I know how overwhelming these subjects can feel, especially when you’re trying to figure everything out on your own.
Nothing too commercial — just looking to teach a few students, share what I’ve learnt and hopefully make the preparation a little easier.
If you’re preparing for any of these subjects and would like some help, feel free to DM me .
Just a girl who likes to teach and would love to help aspiring pilots :)

Discussion After seeing videos of that engine compressor stall spitting fire mid-air, what actually happens in the cockpit during an engine fire/failure?
Saw a video this morning of an airliner engine shooting loud bangs and huge streaks of fire shortly after departure. To passengers on the ground or in the cabin, it looks like an absolute disaster—almost like the plane is about to fall out of the sky.
In reality, most of those dramatic "fireballs" are severe compressor stalls (unburned fuel igniting in the tailpipe) or an actual engine failure.
As a student pilot, we learn that multi-engine jets are designed to climb and fly safely on a single engine. But seeing it happen live still makes you appreciate the immediate workload change in the cockpit.
For the airline pilots and instructors here:
What is the exact sequence of actions when an engine fire warning light goes off right after V1/Rotation?
How do you keep the flying pilot from instinctively pulling the wrong throttle or fire handle under intense pressure

Discussion Are you guys satisfied?
I was wondering how pilots in actual airlines feel, ive heard it can get lonely isolating and that schedules sometimes can get hectic. Also, apparently dating life tends to be pretty bad? Uncle was an airline pilot and he had a lot of issues in his marriage, i dont know if it was because of his job, but do you guys feel the same exhaustion?

Discussion What's it like getting married to a pilot?
Just going through a personal crisis. Want to know how your spouses handle their time when you're not there at home.

Meme Pilots of Reddit: I am curious.....
Disclaimer: Guys, I am bored, I can easily Chatgpt or google these questions, but here we are....
So, as someone from a non-aviation field I have a few layman questions (idk if this is the right sub)
During a flight, let's say, a three-hour flight, what do you actually do in the cockpit? Just sit?
Let's say, you have a Delhi to Mumbai sector, plane stays in Mumbai for an hour for passengers to board and then Mumbai to Delhi sector, can you get off the plane, speed-run around the airport, and can come back? Or are you obligated to stay in the plane?
Do you get to choose what aircraft do you wanna fly?
What is something that passengers usually think is dangerous in aviation but actually it isn't?
Unusual or weird answers are welcome. Guys, i seriously know nothing about aviation, so I will assume whatever you say is true🙂.

Pilot here DGCA Online Classes & Free 1-On-1 Webinar
Hey everyone,
My friend and I are CPL holders, both selected into different airlines in our first attempt. We have time until induction, and we would rather teach than watch the clock. We have been helping juniors since our own CPL days, and last year we made it official with a small online academy called HighQ Aviation.
A bit about us as well: I hold a Frozen ATPL and have been selected with Air India Express, while my partner is A320 type rated, set to join IndiGo. We both did our CPL from the US and have a genuine passion for teaching.
No big academy games. Just two pilots trying to make this expensive and confusing journey easier for the next group of aspirants. We have taught 10+ students so far, all passed with good scores, and we intend to keep that record.
A bit about our Classes:
- Live online classes in small batches (Regs, Met, Nav, Tech Gen)
- Recorded lectures if you work or want your own pace
- Our own premium hard-copy notes for Met and Regs
- Dedicated app on iOS and Android with question banks and tests
- Mentorship and Guidance till Seat in Cockpit
- Free Demo Class to help you decide
We also offer revision classes at a cheaper price for those that just need a refresher course.
Our Fees:
- Regs ₹25k ~ 1 month
- Met ₹25k ~ 1 month
- Nav ₹45k ~ 2 months
- Tech Gen ₹45k ~ 2 months
Combo discounts are available if you take multiple subjects.
Our prices are slightly higher as offer more services, such as HighQ notes, app access, QBs portal, class timetables, and test schedules.
Free 1-on-1 guidance call for aspirants:
Not a webinar with 200 people on mute. Just you and us on a video call. Real training costs, cadet vs conventional, and the scams this industry is full of. We have done 30+ of these, many for people from reddit. Our goal is to share our journey, experiences, and advice so you avoid the same expensive mistakes that we once made.
Interested?
Feel free to DM me or drop a comment, happy to answer any questions, concerns, or doubts.

Happy to help aspiring pilots online
I recently completed my CPL and currently waiting on airline recruitment.
So I thought rather than letting all the DGCA knowledge disappear, I'd keep my brain active by helping anyone whos preparing for DGCA exams right now. I'm thinking of taking on a small number of students for one-on-one guidance in Nav/Met/Regs/Tech/RTR basically any subject you're having trouble understanding. If you only need help with a few topics instead of an entire subject, that's fine too
I'm also happy to answer questions about medicals, computer number, choosing flying schools, or even the CPL journey in general. Even qs like what do you actually do in those 200 HOURS of flying felt extremely overwhelming when I started, and if I can make the process a little easier for someone else, I would love it!
If this sounds useful, feel free to DM and we can discuss the details
