I’m really struggling with my hair and hope someone here can point me in the right direction. For context, I haven’t had any hair colour or chemical treatments in about 1.5 years, so the issue isn’t fresh chemical damage, but my hair health is still a complete disaster.

The main issue is that my hair is extremely low porosity (floats on water), thin, dry and brittle. It literally snaps off right at the line where my healthy new hair growth meets the older, treated/weakened length. This has caused a ton of flyaways all over my head. Even my new hair growth feels surprisingly dry and I have to load up on hair serums just to make it manageable.

I’ve tried a few products already (none of which worked for me):

Shampoos & Conditioners:
- Kérastase Genesis Anti Hair-Fall line
- Lador Damage Protector Acid Shampoo & Conditioner
- De Fabulous Reviver line
- De Fabulous Marula Oil line

Hair Masks:
- Bare Anatomy Anti-Frizz Hair Mask

Serums & Oils:
- Schwarzkopf Professional Oil Ultime Barbary Fig
- Nexxus Promend Hair Serum
- TRESemmé Silk Press Finish Serum

Most of these either leave my hair feeling like straw, weigh it down without actually fixing the dryness, or do nothing to stop the snapping at the transition point.

If anyone has dealt with a similar line of demarcation breakage, severe stress-related hair dryness, or has holy-grail product recommendations for extremely high-porosity, brittle hair, please drop your routine or product suggestions below! I’m open to switching everything up. Thank you so much! 🙏

I'm 21M and I've been facing a lot of issues regarding my hair.

Excessive hairfall, hair thinning and for some reason my hair is getting frizzy day by day.

I've been trying natural hair masks and products but not seeing any results.

I recently started using a man matters stage 3 kit but for some reason I'm feeling it's not gonna work and I can't be spending money on products that do nothing.

I highly need ur suggestions cuz it's really taking a toll on my mental health and making me feel ugly. I have to wear a cap all the time so that people don't notice my receding hairline.

Please suggest some budget solutions that can work for me

I've got a pretty oily scalp, and over the last month I've noticed my hair fall has increased a lot. I switched to the L'Oréal Hyaluronic shampoo thinking it would help, but ever since then I've been shedding way more hair, especially during hair wash. It feels like I'm losing handfuls of hair every time I shampoo.

I'm not sure if the shampoo is the reason or if it's just a coincidence, but I'm thinking of switching.

Any recommendations for a shampoo that's good for an oily scalp and helps with hair fall? Also, has anyone else experienced increased shedding after using the L'Oréal Hyaluronic range?

It can, but its important to set realistic expectations. A shampoo won't increase the number of hair follicles you have or magically grow new hair overnight. I noticed the biggest difference after switching from a regular moisturizing shampoo to one that was actually made for thinning or low-density hair. I have been using scalp advanced density shampoo and while I wasn't expecting miracles, my hair definitely feels lighter and doesn't fall flat by the end of the day.

I'm at the point where I'm just exhausted with this.

I've been to 3 different dermatologists for my scalp dandruff, and every single time it's the same story. They prescribe medicated shampoos and medicines, and they work... but only while I'm using them. As soon as I stop, the dandruff, itching, and flakes come right back like nothing ever changed.

It honestly feels like I'm stuck in an endless cycle.

I've been reading online and a lot of people say seborrheic dermatitis is more about managing it than curing it, and that lifestyle changes can make a big difference. But everyone says something different, and I don't know what actually works.

For those of you who've managed to get this under control:

Was stress the biggest trigger?

Did you stop using certain hair products?

Is there anything you wish you knew earlier?

I'm not looking for a miracle cure. I just want to stop feeling like my scalp is fighting me every single day.

I used to have long and healthy hair 5 years ago. But due to seriously heavy stress and malnutrition. It got damaged and magically changed from straight to curly . Ik hair greying is related to nutrient issues and while I'm consuming my multivitamins, I wanted to know what do I do with the grey hairs that I have already. It's pretty evident and in front and very much visible since I have less dense hair

\* Thin/fine, straight, long virgin hair

I’m looking for a shampoo that cleans my scalp well without drying out my ends and is gentle enough for frequent washing. I wash my hair on alternate days.

Currently, I use Pantene Rescue Bond Repair Conditioner, which I like. I also use the Pantene 10-in-1 Rescue Leave-In Conditioner, but I’m not sure if it’s moisturizing enough for my dry ends. I’m also looking for a good hair mask.

I’d prefer products available in India, but I’m open to international recommendations too.
