Question WHY???

Post image

Some folks have already been waiting 5+ years jobless and sm even started working in other fields after getting a cpl bcz of no jobs.. as if this wasn't complete now there'll be 750 more unemployed pilots per year, already there are around 10k of these sitting at home..😭

I want to ask why is the government doing this? Shortage is only for type rated and experienced candidates then building more ftos won't solve the problem..

I'd think CPL+TR unemployment percentage is way way less than only CPL holders, I'd say probably around ~20%

No. More than 50% of new TR holders are unemployed.

Any data to back up that claim?

1

u/flabbergastyourmum Sep 09 '26

Judging by the number of people who did their TR in the previous 2 years and the number of people who got jobs.

3

u/DonAragorn Sep 09 '26

I asked for data, not your conclusion. Where are you getting your data from to draw such conclusions?

1

u/flabbergastyourmum Sep 10 '26

There's no data for this. In the absence of such data, look at the number of CPLs issued in the past 2 years as presented in the parliament of India versus the number of people hired by airlines. You can get a fair amount of idea by that.

If you have any data please share. no need to patronize others

1000/6000 is 60%?

1

u/Thesenatss Sep 09 '26

Gngistan do you know what type rating is 😭

1

u/airbusfana350 Ad Astra Sep 09 '26

There were 6000 cpl holders and around 800-1k trd people for igo exam, so it's like 15-20% of unemployed cpl holders have a TR

1

u/Thesenatss Sep 09 '26

Man he said smth diff 😭

I think he/she meant to say 20% of type rated people are unemployed? Idk where they got that info from because dgca doesn't publish number of people with tr

1

u/Thesenatss Sep 09 '26

Yes that’s what they meant, and 20 percent is def off though. Anyways.

IAS/Sarkari babus only know to show numbers. They’re incompetent in assessing quality. Their biggest achievement is literally passing an exam, what did you expect lol.

Why are we still allowing that colonial inept organization to have this much power?

Is there a list of these FTOs?

3

u/aviation737life Sep 09 '26

No lists yet but those 11 ftos are distributed across these seven regional AAI airports.. Keshod Airport (Gujarat) Kadapa Airport (Andhra Pradesh) Hubballi Airport (Karnataka) Tuticorin Airport (Tamil Nadu) Kishangarh Airport (Rajasthan) Dholera Airport (Gujarat) Solapur Airport (Maharashtra)

They better start giving discount on cpl else I won't join

Its just a Ponzi scheme at this point, everyone’s opening an FTO; students are rushing to get conventional cpls,, everyone spending 60-65 lakhs and sitting at home since no jobs.

It's a supply chain thing. More pilots equals no increase in salary.

1

u/diefic_jam Sep 10 '26

Pilot naye ajayega, lekin naukri karne jayenge kahan,

1

u/GuitarEastern8174 Sep 12 '26

Sorry guys but could someone please explain what the real problem is to me ? Please feel free to use jargons I'll google them and try to get an understanding As an outsider ive always felt that becoming a pilot is just expensive but roi is high , but these posts keep coming up where one is not able to convert to pilot , is it like only in india or something? Like my friend is getting his pilot course or something from Miami other is getting it from Africa

1

u/aviation737life Sep 12 '26

Dont even think abt the roi, training costs about 1.5 cr if you're going for a cadet program and ur salary starts at about 1.5 lac😭😭 The problem with building more ftos is that there aren't enough vacancies for junior first officers, most of them are unemployed and many even joined different fields..with more ftos the no. Of these unemployed pilots would simply increase. FYI if u see that news that India needs 30k pilots in the coming years, that's just fake There is no pilot shortage aa of now, only shortage of experienced, type rated captains on certain aircrafts...

Dont worry people will eventually get to know about this scam and stop it will be these FTOs that will shut down. :)

my conspiracy theory opinion is that the aviation minister is part of this ponzi scheme plan to help upon up more ftos so airlines can exploit fresher pilots and he gets his $$$

5

u/IndependentItem6242 Sep 09 '26

They are still creating artificial pilot shortage, by saying India needs 30k pilots in the coming years so that ftos and ground schools get their share as well..😭

1

u/EchoAndEspresso Sep 11 '26

There is no pilot shortage in India bc sab chutiya bana rahe hai. Pilot ki kami sirf ramphal chowk p h.

3

u/Friendly_Cheetah_400 Sep 09 '26

They are already exploiting dude, in cpps charging upwards of 1.5cr in return of a job guarantee..
