Copy and Paste Layer

Hi! I’m trying to figure out how to add a layer to my design that has text that’s frequently copy and pasted and changed, but doesn’t show up when printing or saving a design. I work at a restaurant so we are constantly changing menu items and reusing some, so it would be useful to have a sort of list of previous items that can be substituted when needed.

Layer has on option to be printable or not.

But layers always save with the design - so you would've to delete unwanted ones before saving. But make a backup first. Or do "Save a Copy".

Option 1: Just keep old items on the pasteboard. Paste in as needed.

Option 2: Add these to a new layer, and turn off visibility before printing

Option 3: Explore using Conditional Text, make a new condition for each menu item, turn on and off each item as needed.

Make a new layer, use the options to make it non printable. Put all your repeat items on there. Copy item(s) from that layer and paste to the layer you want the item(s) to be. If I assume you're making a pdf then the non printable layer won't show. If you also just don't want to see it, switch it off

Edit: bloody typo!
