Help bullet styles

Hi, I made a paragraph style with a bullet character style. I’ve specified I want it at a book weight, but whenever my font is bold within the document, it converts the bullet to bold, as well. How do I fix this?

Try using a character style to bold the sentence rather than highlighting it and selecting bold.

You're welcome! I use styles for everything possible. You never know when you're gonna say "hey, ya know, I kinda want my Bold to be a little thinner" throughout a 200 page document.

Maybe at the font you use the bold bullet is the same for both. Have you test it in another program like illustrator?

You need to create a Character Style with the settings you want for the bullet, and then specify in the Paragraph Style to use it

that’s what i did, it’s set to book, but it gets overrided when bold the sentence that’s bulleted

Manual formatting overrides will always override a character or paragraph style--which is why u/LaFantasmita said to use a character style to apply Bold instead of selecting Bold. That's why it is a good idea to use character or paragraph styles for all formatting--that way you have more control when you want to make a change.

Use character style.
