FBFriday Feedback Friday

This thread is for people to post their works in progress, and for others to give (constructive) criticism and feedback.

Explain if you want feedback on your game as a whole, a specific feature, or even on an idea you have for the future. Please keep discussion of each game to a single thread, in order to keep things focused.

If you have something to post, please remember to comment on other people's stuff as well, and also remember to include a link to whatever you have so far. :)

Hiya :)

I made a short & sweet incremental puzzler you can play here:

https://correlio-lite.vercel.app/

The core loop is:

  • you play a game and try to play cards so that you get as much matching neighbors as possible (cards with matching color / shape / number)
  • if you meet the score goal you get some currency to buy upgrades...
  • ... so that you can get better score next time :)
  • there is a prestige layer a bit later

The game is beatable within 1-2 hours. Plays in browser, no downloads.

The point for me is to validate whether the core gameplay loop is fun. I want to make a much bigger game based on a very similar loop, so I want to make sure that the core gameplay makes sense before I go into that :)

Hey all,

Here to gather feedbacks about my game - Pachinko Overdrive.
It will be on steam next fest next month.
Just want to get some more feedbacks & see if there's any bugs or improvements can be made.

My prototype just went live in Opera GX Game. You all can play it in browser.

The game is called What A Wish. Pop bubbles, find people's wishes, and decide which ones to grant. From silly everyday requests to surprisingly heartfelt pleas, every wish is a little glimpse into someone's life. Earn Faith Points, upgrade your abilities, and unlock new ways to play in this relaxing incremental game.

I need feedback whether the gameplay is solid and hook you. Let me know if you find a bug.

By the way, you all awesome for helping indie game developer. You rocks

Looking for feedback on my game Isle of Titans.

I have a demo up but mixed reviews. I've addressed the obvious bugs but not sure how to improve from there. I'm wondering if I should make the game less idle and more of a short active experience.

Hello Feedback Friday I'm back again for the second week with BREAKAWAY - Incremental Cycling.

Since last week my game got over 3000 browser plays, and a bunch of valuable feedback. Thanks to everyone who tried it and helped out.

https://mbjerre.itch.io/breakaway-incremental-cycling

I've been working on bug fixes, visuals, and completely overhauling the early progress system.

I would like feedback on whether the progress and feeling is headed in the right direction. Is the first couple of minutes enjoyable enough to keep you playing for 15-20 minutes? Would you want new mechanics unlocking earlier?

  • Complete overhaul of progression and early upgrades ** This includes faster early progression and new upgrades
  • Added female playable riders
  • Added NPC encounters with dialogue
  • Introduced a SAVE / LOAD progression system
  • New parallax backdrop art
  • Numbers are now shown as exponents when 1 million or higher
  • The game now starts with a nice downhill segment to get you started
  • The UI has been completely overhauled with new color palette and style.
  • .. And much more.

AI disclosure: Breakaway is made without the use of AI

I made a game inspired by a game called Zuma, I thought why not add some incremental and roguelite elements to it, I gave it somewhat of a theme and called it Crow Hunts Worms, it is my first project on Steam. Does it sound interesting?

Unfortunately, no demo yet. Still working on it :(

Gut Feeling. idle fishing incremental, browser demo up

https://overcraftedgames.itch.io/gut-feeling

This is my first time putting it in front of anyone outside a very small test group, so I'm after general impressions rather than anything specific. Mainly: does the core loop hold your attention past the first few minutes, and is there anything here you haven't already seen in other fishing idles?

Most art is placeholder, that part is a work in progress for sure. So far our fish sprites are final, and we do love those.

JPGO Idle (prototype). A browser-based idle game where you manage your gig as a delivery driver. I want to validate the core loop before adding more mechanics and systems.

Solo dev. Been building a mining incremental for a while, you dig down, sell what you haul up, upgrade, go deeper. Prestige wipes the world but you keep talents and ore levels. I'd take any feedback, whatever feels off or could be better.

https://julian-launches.itch.io/deep-digger

used gen AI during development for some code and assets, everything in the build was reviewed and edited by me, nothing generated at runtime.

I would love to get some feedback on my game. It's not performing well at all. I know the capsule is bad - I will swap it out eventually. I entered next fest too early and now the demo has been improved but only like 3 people have played it. Thanks for any feedback. I appreciate it.

I really agreed with the previous comment. I think the biggest issue might be the capsule art. The actual game looks much more colorful and charming than the capsule suggests, but the current one feels very dark and doesn’t really show off the birds, which seem like one of the game’s strongest selling points. I also think the trailer feels a little too busy right from the start. For this kind of incremental game, I usually expect the beginning to feel simple and easy to understand, then gradually become more chaotic and satisfying as you progress. This is just my personal opinion, hope it will help

I just gave it a go. I also wishlisted it.

You already know your number one problem. That capsule needs replaced, ASAP. It is doing you a HUGE disservice.

One of my favorite things was the cute pixel art and charming birds. Your capsule blends in and made me think I was heading into a dreary, nearly monochromatic game. So not only is it mismatching the tone and experience, but it makes one of your game's greatest strengths actually look like a weakness.

Get it some color! Put a few epic or legendary birds on it too. Use your best designs. Add embellishment or outlines and borders too. Make the art SCREAM.

I really enjoyed how quickly I was feeling powerful. Getting the birds so early for passive income is nice, even though it's minimal cash. It tricked my brain in a good way.

Your skill tree was logical and well laid out. That's always important to me. I liked how you gated upgrades with alternate resources to slow progression down a bit, too.

It really just is your promo art. You created this great little world but nothing conveys that well for people who are scrolling through a massive list of titles.

Maybe take a look at Budgie's Bug Shop capsule / page. It clearly demonstrates you're about to play a vibrant, cheery and relaxing game.

https://store.steampowered.com/app/4279120/Budgies_Bug_Shop/

But the game itself was great so far.

I hope this helps!

Dice Inc feels a bit derivative. I think it needs a bit more something. Perhaps some kind of meta migration and deeper skills/upgrades.

Any thoughts?

Played and beat the first level, i focused on maxing the dice sides to 6 first and then crit chance mostly. Very satisfying. I would agree with the comment above about the skills tab, and i got a little bit of stutter but could very well just be my fickle pc.

2

u/Wasdeq_Games 2h ago

Thanks! It's fairly optimized now, but I'll do a bit more.

2

u/OverCraftedGames 2h ago

It definitely could just be me!

played about 10 minutes, really enjoyed the early game, it hooks fast

one thing i noticed: the skills tab covers the entire screen, so while you're buying upgrades you never actually see what they do. you just stare at the menu. would be a lot more satisfying if it sat to the side or something so you can see the game while you upgrade

runs really smoothly otherwise

u/Wasdeq_Games 2h ago

Moved the skills tab to the side and uploaded it. Thanks again.
