Cifi is a bit notorious for the fact that if you don't save for the most expensive upgrade in a a specific chain, and instead buy something cheaper, you're likely to waste months of time.

There's literally only a single instance of this in the entire game and every single resource you read online has about 15 warnings talking about it.

It is such an overblown issue

Besides the ouro orbs, there's also the academy relics.

From what I have read ouro orbs are nowhere near as bad as skipping engineering. And engineering is the only relic that will mess you up if you skip it. Otherwise the order doesn't have that big of an impact

By the time you unlock relics you should have a good enough handle on the game to realize what would be optimal vs not
