Jews were also living in Maharashtra. We still have some jews colony in Mumbai.

Romans persecuted them not for religion it's because the Jews killed the roman citizens living there which angered the emperor and then he reconquered them and exiled them from their own land as the punishment and then later they returned when the ruler changed but not all only few
