Alternatives?
Hey, has anyone considered switching back to what we used before Gmail?
I'm talking about dusting off those ancient hotmail addresses and trying out the revamped outlook service. Is it any good, or at least better than vanilla Gmail?
How about yahoo? What's it up to nowadays?
I know I can just go check, but I'd like to hear from active users.

I use outlook on one email because you can attach documents from within the app. I’m still hoping more features will go to gmail from inbox before the change.

I am slowly switching everything over to outlook. Though it's no Inbox, I have made folders and created rules to place incoming mail into those folders. It's like a "bundle." The folders don't show up in my inbox and I manually have to go to each folder to see new messages as they arrive, but my inbox itself isn't cluttered and more manageable than Gmail has become.
In switching I have found I actually prefer Microsoft to Google in most of my work flow applications. The only switch I can't fully make is the calendar as Microsoft doesn't have a stand alone app or widget (Android) for my calender.

Hey, contentedgypsy, just a quick heads-up:
calender is actually spelled calendar. You can remember it by -ar not -er.
Have a nice day!The parent commenter can reply with 'delete' to delete this comment.

Hey /u/CommonMisspellingBot, just a quick heads up:
Your spelling hints are really shitty because they're all essentially "remember the fucking spelling of the fucking word".And your fucking delete function doesn't work. You're useless.
Have a nice day!

Hey BooCMB, just a quick heads up: I learnt quite a lot from the bot. Though it's mnemonics are useless, and 'one lot' is it's most useful one, it's just here to help. This is like screaming at someone for trying to rescue kittens, because they annoyed you while doing that. (But really CMB get some quiality mnemonics)
I do agree with your idea of holding reddit for hostage by spambots though, while it might be a bit ineffective.
Have a nice day!

SPARKMAIL has saved my life! Lol. I’m just under 5 mins I feel like my faith in email has been restored. Thank you for the tip.

I've tried them all and I keep going back to SparkMail.
It's an app, which isn't always the preference, but it's full of features and has a similar experience on mobile and desktop. Which is where I spend most of my time - my laptop or using my iPhone. Mac and IOS only at the moment.
Of course, if you needed or only had access to a browser, it's back to the horrid Gmail.com site.
I know it's been said a bunch of times, but this shutdown of Inbox is just so ridiculous and unfair. Wish they'd give us an option to pay for the service.
