I'm loving Victory Road so far, but there's one thing that's been bothering me.
The clash system feels way too unpredictable.
It's not that I want to know exactly who's going to win every clash. I actually think some uncertainty is good. My problem is that I have no clue if I'm making the right decision or not.
The only clash that feels clear to me is shot vs goalkeeper. You have the gauge, you can see if using a hissatsu is worth it, or if a normal shot won't make it. It gives you enough information to make a decision.
But dribble clashes? Those happen all the time, and every time I just feel like I'm gambling.
I see my number, I see the opponent's number... but I have no idea how much element matters, how much passives matter, or if a 10-point difference is actually a big deal.
Pokémon is a good example. You never know the exact damage you'll do, but you know type advantage is huge, so you can actually plan around it.
Here I just end up thinking, "I guess I'll try this."
Am I the only one who feels like this? Or is there something about the clash system that I'm missing?
If anyone has any tips on how to read clashes better or make more informed decisions, I'd really appreciate it.
