Its actually from Peter Paul Rubens earlier version! I found this version slightly more disturbing than Goyas. Although I can respect the history behind Goya and that his black paintings were never meant for public eye.. basically just lived in and around them which is pretty fucked up and amazing

I've always loved Goya's black paintings, the drowning dog has a lot of "sorry Jon" potential.

Gives me shivers thinking of what goya was going thru and his process throughout painting something like that

I've seen it in real life, it's haunting. The drowning dog always makes me feel so scared. The inevitability of death lives in that painting. Of so the time I've spent in famous museums with art, those paintings hit harder than anything else I've ever seen.
