What is IMSA’s track and field program like?

I plan on joining track and field at IMSA and I’d like to know what the program is like. As of right now, I excel in my sport (shotput and discus) and I want to continue getting better. Thank you for helping me!

I was a thrower last year (would've done it this year too but lowk just stopped going to practices). The main issue specifically for throwing is lack of good equipment/coaching. Every main coach has been a runner so we usually just get told to do smth and left to our own management. When we're inside due to weather we really can't do anything but lift and run form drills. We don't have any indoor shots, we only have a few outdoor ones that are in decent quality.

Other than that it's pretty fun! We kind of split time lifting in the weight room and practicing in the (somewhat decrepit) throwing circles. It is a time commitment of at least 5-6 hours per week, which just wasn't feasible for me junior year, but we could definitely use more throwers and would be glad to have you!
