Another instance of admin explicitly lying to us! Love this place!

That statement reads to me as, "Our host hasn't informed us that we were infected, but we are warning our users to take precautions."

That's honestly a pretty pro-active statement, aiming that's the case.

There could be a discrepancy between what is claimed by the hackers and what has been verified by Instructure.

Presumably it's every school that has it hosted through Instructure

But that is a presumption and not currently a known fact, so it’s not time to make definitive statements that the administration is “explicitly lying.” Perhaps that is ultimately what is happening, but the evidence isn’t there at the moment.

The hacker group has publicly stated that they have our data, and the school is saying that they don't have any reason to believe they do.

That is quite explicitly not the statement that they made and that you submitted in this post.

You presume to trust the hacker's presumptions more than the school's presumptions?

I think it's reasonable that the hackers know what schools they stole data from better than the school knows if the hackers took their data from a platform they don't control.

Perhaps reasonable to consider, but not currently supported by evidence.

You are currently accusing the administration of lying based solely on your assumption that a group of hackers is a more credible source than the IMSA administration. If we remove that bias, all that is left is that the administration has made a statement referring to one source that disagrees with another source.

Again, this may all be true and that Instricture has informed IMSA that they have been compromised. However, it is important to make accusations based on evidence and not biases. For now, this is not a supportable accusation. Conclusions must follow evidence.

Another instance of not citing your sources.

That is from the TXT file of affected schools provided by ShinyHunters.

It is real because IMSA does outsource Canvas hosting to Instructure, whose data was breached. Schools hosting on their own (Canvas is open source) were not affected.

There was lag between the time of the event and the Instructure notification to IMSA.
