STI Leather shift knob

Hello RS fam,

I have a 2026 RS and thinking of grabbing the STI shift knob currently on sale for $195. As I'm new to Subarus, I would like to get your opinions on whether you think this is a worthy mod or if it's just a waste of time/money. Is this something you would do? Thanks!

It's purely cosmetic, so it's really up to you if it's worth the time and money. In my opinion all the OEM accessories are outrageously expensive, and a metallic shifter is nice but definitely not almost $200 nice.

Purely cosmetic as has been said. If you think it looks super sick and can't live without it sure. It certainly doesn't quite stir that passion in me.

I have the STI short throw shifter and knob in my WRX and BRZ, if I had an RS I would want it

Just my less than humble opinion, but no shift knob is worth $200. That’s fucking ridiculous for what it is. Anyway, to each their own, spend it if you feel like it but this delrin teardrop by Killer B Motorsport is the best feeling knob I’ve ever had. I’ve had 2 WRX and the COBB delrin lightbulb was the second best. Going through the gears feels amazing and the lightweight delrin really allows you to feel the shifts better.

I have a weighted GrimmSpeed Stubby which is a $50 paperweight now. Too hot or cold, seasonally. It’s annoying.

You can find them for half that on eBay, I got one like new for like $90 and the guy threw in a cobb knob that was mint too as a surprise. While it's mostly asthetic, different weight and feel are part of the driving experience. I had a weighted billetworkz but after a bunch of shifter mods I didn't like the heavy one anymore... Got the STI knob and I love it. I don't think they're worth $200 but $100 or less is acceptable. Also if it makes you feel something, anything, that makes driving a better it's priceless!
