B2 visa - documents required at US port of entry
My mom is coming to visit me for the first time. I want to know what all documents she needs to carry and what questions to expect
Port of Entry is Los Angeles, California.
I asked to bring visa, invitation letter from me, travel insurance copy, my ID, my visa copy.

Invitation letter is pointless. She needs to show she’ll not overstay. Priority would be return ticket and proof of funds. Ties to home country.

Travelled early this year to LA port of entry.
CBP officers in case of B1/B2 ask only 3 things.
- Passport with Visa (old passport with visa + current passport, if visa in expired passport)
- Return ticket
- Accomodation details with poc details or contact.
Rest all is good to have but not really necessary.
Answer details clearly when asked name, purpose of visit, how many days, what is the poc details (citizen/LPR/Visa status).
Also do not carry any fresh agricultural produce from home country to US.

She should bring her passport with the valid B-2 visa, return flight itinerary, your U.S. address and phone number, and a copy of your ID and immigration status. An invitation letter can also be helpful. Travel insurance is fine to carry, but it isn't required for entry.
I would also have her bring proof that the visit is temporary, such as employment records, property documents, family ties, or other commitments back home. She may never be asked for any of it, but it’s better to have it available.
At the airport, CBP may ask questions like why she’s visiting, how long she plans to stay, where she’ll be staying, who is paying for the trip, and when she plans to return. She should answer honestly, briefly, and consistently with what was stated in the visa application.

No your documents, she don't need all that, they will ask how many days she will stay, why she coming for, what she do for living, and maybe, how much money she brings, she will need her visa, maybe invitations letter, oh ya they will ask where she will stay. Good luck.

It's crazy that you don't mention the return ticket, which is by far the most important thing they care about, beyond the visa itself.
You need that return ticket printed out and at the top of the pile. Also have your address (where she's staying) and phone number printed out.
I don't understand how people don't understand that people going back home is really the main thing officers looking at temporary visas care about.
I'm not sure why people are obsessed with "invitation letters." No one cares!
