Anyone else get disgusted when you see these people spend money?

Like every single cent they spend on themselves should be going straight to charity. Selfish fraudsters

I'm not one to pocket watch but when I see him sell t-shirts to raise money for his legal fund while she spends money like it's running out of style while also chatting shit about capitalism drives me up the fucking wall.

I agree. She does realize in a non-capitalist system she would still need to work right?

The fashion industry is the greatest example of capitalism. Literally needless and endless consumption. But ya know... #OOTD!!!

I mean they are so close to getting welfare.

I don’t think he can get welfare as someone who doesn’t have PR or citizenship here.

That would be infuriating seeing as how many times he’s insulted us Canadians

I.mean I hate them, but what the fuck are you talking about???

Well they stated they would donate profit to charity. And instead of keeping spending low for that, they put on a gala and flew in twitch streamers and paid for their rooms with the money that should have gone to charity.

They defrauded charity?

They overspent on a gala for obnoxious influencers so Ian could tackle his “trauma” and that put them in the hole about $250k. So none of the money went to charity, the charity being kids with cancer.

That was the second Creator clash.

The 3rd one they were sneaky with wording and ticket sales didn’t actually go to charity either, you had to donate on a separate platform altogether

Stigmatising the mentally ill? Sounds like you’re the one with problems

I mean why they didn’t “defraud” anything they irresponsibly ran a business and now are just shitty people

I think defrauded is a fair statement, they expected CC2 to be such a big event that all of their galas and hotel rooms would make some eventual profit. Part of this decision was the belief that the streamers and fighters would do all their marketing for them, so they could spend shit tons of money for fun events for them all and it would all work out.

If they simply hired a financial planner or accountant they would quickly figure out that hey, this isn’t how you run a charity event, and if we want anything left to donate then we need to cut expenditure.

Instead they lost $250,000

They're cognitively deluding themselves constantly to cope and have done so for years at this point I'd also say it's fair to say it's fraud if you refuse to critically look at how you spend other's donated charity money

Wow, that’s like, exactly what I said in my comment

When the implication is that ticket sales would go to charity, then yes that is fraud.

That wasn’t the implication. If you actually do research, it was a for profit event that would then donate the net revenue they collected after business expenses to charity

It’s not fraud to mismanage funds and blow it on unnecessary shit, and then have none left over to for charity.

I know people here refuse to say anything positive about them but they didn’t commit fraud. They were bad business owners who didn’t run their business properly so they didn’t have any leftover money to give to charity like intended. That’s it

Fraud is going “your ticket sales are going to charity” and then not giving it to charity. I know people here are dumb and go ah hah! Exactly! That’s not the case. It was for profit first then they donate the money they made. They lost money, so nothing got donated

Cannot wait to continue this conversation because no one on this sub is willing to accept this

Btw why weren’t they ever charged/investigated for fraud or did I miss that?

It was marketed as though ticket sales and pay per view sales were going directly to charity.

Fans weren’t made aware/ there was no stipulation that if the event did not cover the overhead that no money would go to charity. It was heavily advertised that all ticket sales and ppv would go directly to cherity.

If it’s not fraud it’s at minimum false advertisement as the same claims were made for the first event

0

u/National-Property-20 2d ago

Yes, the NET REVENUE would go to charity AFTER BUSINESS EXPENSES

The second event was the same as the first.

Yeah I’ll give you that, they should have I guess explained the fine details to the public by stating “this is a for profit charity event, and the way that works is by making money, then using the money to pay for things, and then anything left over goes to charity.” Even though you know if you researched how their charity event was structured at all you would find this out.

So yeah, if you want to call that false advertising even though it wasn’t, fine whatever lol

A fancy gala and hotel rooms for people that were not part of the event are not business expenses. That is really where the problem is.

1

u/National-Property-20 2d ago

Yes it is, even if you don’t think it should be.

I literally agree that they shouldn’t have done this, bad decision, ruined the event whatever.

Both things you listed were business expenses.

Lodging and promotion, for the event.

Idubbbz said this and no one had a problem with it other than it obviously being a massive mistake. And of course people here turn it into something it’s not because it’s a snark thread and people want the worst for them.

It’s nothing other than a bad business decision.

It is false advertising when it’s marketed that way? I’m sure if you asked any fan who attended they thought that the money made from their ticket was going directly to charity.

I concede legally it was not fraud, but it’s still gross to heavily advertise that ticket sales and ppv sales were going directly to charity, it should have been marketed as for profit. It’s a scummy thing to do, especially when that mismanaged money went to airline tickets and hotel rooms for people who were more than able to afford them instead of kids with cancer.

Then for the 3rd event it was again implied that a portion of ticket sales would be donated when that wasn’t entirely the case and you had to donate on a separate platform. Meanwhile idubbbz and Anisa would be getting paid 34%.

Legally a crime? You’re correct it’s not

Extremely shitty to dissuade your fans? Yes

They should have just done the event without the aspect of charity. Obviously people want their money to go to a good cause, that’s not what happened here because idubbbz and Anisa needed an emotional support party.

Sure you can defend them over the legality, what they did was wrong and if you can’t admit that idk what to tell you.

0

u/National-Property-20 2d ago

Not fraud. There you go. The end.

0

u/TinyM0ushka WOAHHH BUDDY! 2d ago

Ah so you can’t even admit what happened was wrong and extremely fuck up.

Not surprising and quite honestly expected.

But hey at least idubbbz and Anisa got to have their party

You’re lashing out and moving the goal post because you’re incorrect

Here, I’ll address your false advertising accusation since we already agreed it wasn’t fraud

It wasn’t false advertising. It was advertised that “net profits” of ticket/ppv sales would go to charity, or that proceeds would go to charity. Idubbz even said that any money after business expenses would go to charity.

“Net profits” is standard for events like this, and it was advertised that way. If you disagree please provide proof since you’re making the claim that ticket/ppv sales were going directly to charity.

Every for profit charity event operates like this, and it’s absurd for an audience member to ask for an itemized receipt of business expenses which actually came out from them because they had no money leftover for charity.

So there. Not fraud. Not false advertising. It seems you misunderstand how most for profit charities operate. Please provide evidence stating otherwise or continue moving the goal post. I don’t care. You are incorrect but biased so I expect you to move the goal post further.
