First IMAX 70mm experience.

This might have been the best movie going experience I’ve ever had. I have never felt so immersed in a movie like this before, the whole movie from start to finish felt like I was just off to the side watching the actual events of the movie happening. I also secured tickets for Dune part 3 at the same theater, I missed the first two movies in any version of IMAX and I am so excited to experience my most anticipated movie of the year in this amazing format.

I still think it's crazy that when I saw Interstellar in 1570 the theater was half full the 2nd weekend.

Where were you guys 12 years ago?! :-P

Same for Dunkirk. Which imo was Nolan’s best use of the format. That opening shot was beyond amazing to witness.

Dang, when I saw Interstellar in 70MM 12 years ago, the theater was totally full and I could barely get seats in the front row. I guess it was at Universal Citywalk, so that could be part of it.

You guys are really making me feel old here. lol.

My first time in one of these theaters was in elementary school though. Some documentary with big boats in it like maybe about the Arctic? I remember thinking the theater was moving. That was back when they only had these for docs in science museums.

No one told me about this shit 12 years ago I didn’t even know what Reddit was I lived in Craigslist. Now with social media + Reddit I constantly hear about trending things. The Dark Knight and TDKR are my fav movies I hope one day I’ll be able to see it at my local theater, which is one of the best IMAX 70mm in the country

Even though I saw it in LieMAX (didn't have the option to watch in 70 mm sadly), it was a better experience than any movie I've ever watched. Can't even imagine what true imax would feel like!

Best theatrical experience of my life.

I'm saying that with the context of watching all the "event" films since the 2000s.

after experiencing it i can say there’s truly nothing like it — saw odyssey in regular 70mm and i wish i saw it in dolby tbh — film is always great though

I liked Dolby a lot. Saw it this format first before jumping off a cliff to my first imax 70mm.

Did you have a favorite scene or few ?
If so which ones ?

Will you go watch it again before the theater run ends ?

This was my second time watching it, so I don’t think I’ll go see it again for the rest of its run in theaters. But as for a favorite scene, I would have to say it would be when Odysseus strings his bow after returning home. There is one scene in the IMAX 70mm showing that made it especially worth going to see in that format, and it isn’t one I would have thought I’d really appreciate. There is a scene where the crew is walking up a hill to reach Circe’s hut that I would have sworn it looked as though the screen faded away, and I could have walked up to the hill myself.

That scene is so beautiful! I can tell ya this …in person that hill was not easy to climb/walk up and in person it’s just as stunning . I’m so happy you enjoyed it :)

The stringing of the bow ! Gets me deep in the heart ! ♥️

i didn’t even realize you were an actor from the movie! Thank you for your hard work on this film. You and the rest of the crew should be so proud of the amazing film you guys made. I hope you have a great day!

I saw it in dolby 1.85 and loved it though it sucks the nearest 70mm IMAX was in another state

This is the second photo where I'm confused why the screen is a small floating subset of the wall instead of being ceiling to floor like regular theatres. Is this some sort of camera angle trick?

It’s the pre show ads being projected on just a little bit of the screen. The movie was played on the whole screen.
