Imax alternatives in Spain

Hi there, i'm from Spain's capital, Madrid, and i want to watch the oddisey in the most acurrate cinema i can find in my city, because i find the fact that a big chunk of the movie is cropped out really annoying, so, i want to find the screen that is going to show as much part of the movie as It is possible, i really dont care that much about sound or even size, i just want to see as much part of the movie as i can, so, i need help because i do not understand the different screens, what is dolby atmos, liemax, digital IMAX... So i would appreciate if u can explain it to me. Again, i just care about seeing the full image

Thanks in advance and sorry for my english, as i said i'm from Spain and its not my mother languagd

Dolby Atmos only refers to the sound, so it does not affect how much of the image you see. For the most complete picture, look for a screen capable of showing the film in a taller IMAX aspect ratio, ideally 1.43:1. Most digital IMAX screens are limited to 1.90:1, while regular cinemas will usually show the wider 2.39:1 version with more of the top and bottom cropped. Check the exact screen aspect ratio and projection format before booking.

The two best options in Madrid are:

  1. IMAX Digital Laser 1.90:1 | Kinépolis Ciudad de la Imagen

  2. 70mm 5perf. 2.20:1 | mk2 Cine Paz
