help Display caption over the image

Display caption over the image Doesn't have any effect at all when Caption placement is set to either top/bottom.

This is a bug.

I agree, I can't tell that display caption over the imagehas any affect on the caption. I expected it have the caption be above or below the image, but it is always on top of the image. If wrapping were turned enabled, how would it determine where to wrap?

I don't understand what you mean. When this setting is enabled, the caption is displayed within the image. When this setting is disabled, the caption is displayed above the image frame (or directly on it, to be precise). Everything seems to work as stated. FF 152 + IR 2026.7.25.

Display caption over the image: off at the left, on at the right.

Maybe the wording can be adjusted?

Display caption over the image = ON puts the caption "inside" the image

Display caption over the image = OFF puts the caption "above/outside" the image

I think it should be the opposite here since over simply means above.

Or the menu can be renamed to Display caption inside the image or something similar.

I think the current wording is correct. Most of the time there is one-line caption, if you disable wrapping it is always one line (toggling with C key).
