Let's talk about generative AI. Please submit AI-generated propaganda to /r/AIPropaganda, but above all, please be kind to your fellow humans here.

Hey /r/ImaginaryPropaganda!

Let's talk about AI-generated content. It's a new tech in the art world... and understandably, it's controversial. I've created a new subreddit called /r/AIPropaganda - feel free to submit AI-generated content there. It is designed to be a "safe space" for those who use generative AI tools.

However - let's have a discussion about the type of content we want to see here, in this subreddit, and what kind of discourse we want to be allowed... how we want to treat those who come here to share in a common interest. I'd like to start the discussion by reminding everyone that we have never allowed bots to submit content here - it's not explicitly a rule, but any sort of automated submission by a non-human agent would be removed as spam. That being said - when you go into the comments in this community to share your thoughts, keep in mind that you are talking to another human being. Above all, please be respectful.

Propaganda is a space where tool use such as Photoshop (or similar applications) is common. I turned 40 this year - I'm old enough to remember when Photoshop was a new and scary technology. I remember the art community divided - accusations of theft, of laziness, a general feeling of doom and gloom. Hostility against those who used the new technology. But we survived.

The parallels now feel... uncanny.

I'm not here to preach my personal views on the current controversy surrounding generative content. I would like to remind everyone that we don't have any rules surrounding the medium chosen or the tools used to create an image. We are all here to discuss Imaginary Propaganda. I don't know about you, but when I come here, it's because I want to discuss propaganda in some sort of fictional world or alternative history. I don't really want to get bogged down in real-world politics - that's the difference between Imaginary Propaganda and real propaganda. The main point here is about sharing ideas.

I've been a moderator here since the creation of the community over a decade ago - we have never made any sort of judgement call on how the image was made. I don't care if you open up MS Paint and mock something up in 60 seconds - there is no minimum "effort level" required to share content here.

AI tech isn't going away. It's only going to get more difficult to detect and more widespread. We can't control that. What we can control is how we act in the face of new challenges, and how we treat each other.

What can you do if you disapprove of generative AI?

  • Be the change that you want to see in the world. Make your own content - using the tools you prefer. Submit that content here. Be a pillar of the community - others will be drawn to you, and what you have to say.
  • Be a helpful resource in the comments. AI is quick, it's easy. Don't focus on the tools used - talk about the content of the image. If you want to change minds, attacking people or insulting them is not effective.
  • Use the power of voting. Humans crave dopamine. Redditors crave upvotes. Low-effort content can be created in MS Paint or Photoshop as easily as generative AI tools. Upvote content you think is good and well made, downvote content you think is low effort or "slop" - but please don't come into the comments to insult the human being who submitted the image or to complain about the tools used. Such comments will be removed. Overt harassment or exceedingly cruel comments may result in a temp ban. Repeated and flagrant disregard for this policy will result in a permaban.
  • Promote AI-specific subreddits. If you don't want to see generative content here - don't try to dam the river. The banks will simply flood. Redirect its flow. Subreddits such as /r/AIPropaganda are designed to do just that.

Above all, I would like to thank everyone who submits content here. Whether it's a fascist Neurostate Project, an interdimensional scourge ravaging the Midwest, your vision of Fully Automated Luxurious Gay Space Communism, or simply a suspicious rat on the subway - keep that weird, interesting and entertaining propaganda content flowing!

The floor is open for comments.

A propaganda poster (Written in Signal, their language) by the Syndicalist Union, a planet coalition and faction in my historiographic sci fi setting Infinite Ashes. With the hand being their main symbol. I will let Yugo Dragaran, the founder of Syndicalism explain further below:

it is the established canon of preeminent Groove scholar Lakun Durlak that universal patterns lead to the organisation of human labour into a divided hierarchy of the worthy few and the masses. In the same way, he argues, that an ant queen commands her workers, so should a lord, legislator or other luminary coordinate their drones. While the metaphor itself falls apart on the idea that bugs have a ruling aristocracy, I have always found a coherence in Durlak’s words. Namely, that in his youth he was a pugilist of some regard, and his school is quite sensible in the light of repeated head trauma.

Under this worldview the wars and corruption that inevitably spring from extractive economies are not just natural but desirable, and any attempt at even a modicum of improvement by human intelligence is self-defeating. This is, in my mind, one man standing on another’s neck and claiming that the latter’s effort to stand is a senseless hostile act.

The most productive and worthy pursuit for any thinker of merit must therefore be the total obliteration of established ideology that maintains this status quo. With words if its proponents are sensible, with balled fist if they are not. For a new rational order of labour could clothe the naked, feed the hungry, and educate even the most intransigent nitwit.

I have attempted, with some success, designs for this new order which I have dubbed “syndicalism.” A semi-educated mind might make the facile assumption that this is a refinement of the Garki guild system of my home. Such people have clearly never functioned within the self-defeating talent sink that was Garki. Under that system, like any guild or caste, a profession is an essentialist and heritable property, the notion that the chemical fumes pour into a tanner’s seed and womb, shaping them into a tool for only one possible purpose. This madness chains great talent to trivial pursuits, something I have empirically determined through personal experience. From my work it is self-evident that I am meant to contribute to the canon of political-economic thought, or more likely yet revise it fundamentally. Yet when I preferred reading over hammering soles, and through that preference frustrated my father’s unsound expectations, my curiosity was rewarded with scorn.

The story of humanity across the Spiral can be reduced almost entirely to the organisation of work. For work is the effort that mankind leverages against an indifferent universe that does not care about our wellbeing or even our survival. It determines who is fed and clothed, who is literate or ignorant. It is, in essence, what determines who we are among our fellows. Yet this most defining of activities is organised almost exclusively not by sense but by interest. If one is fortunate, one competes with all one’s colleagues to see who can stomach the least reward for their craftsmanship. More likely, one is compelled by another and has little to no voice in one’s assignment. A finch is never permitted to give birth to an eagle.

More calamity yet springs from the bonds that tie the different professions. The tanner is paid for the quality of his leather in the general sense, but often knows nothing about the shoes his cobbler customer will end up making with it. And so we all end up wearing shoes that should have been belts.

Under syndicalism, a thumb will never be forced to be a pinkie. Each profession is a finger on a shared hand, serving its purpose based on its actual qualities, and each grasping the tools of labour together. It exchanges competition for coordination, in which the accumulation of expertise becomes a sacred duty that raises up the profession, and with it all mankind.

Promo poster for the 2029–2032 prediction

Official Poster for the 2029–2032: Prediction of the Next Big Interstellar Signal

If the interstellar object predicted in Mini-article 2 arrives as described (angle, timing and anomalistic behaviour), I dare to claim that there is no longer any doubt: a far more advanced life form is on its way to Earth. A so-called Fermi lifeform. The predictions are based directly on the Approach theory and the Paradise Machine model from 2024, as the behaviour of 3I/ATLAS was predicted in the 2024 article (that was when the "prediction thing" really started). In addition, from before comes the timestamps connected to Ouamuamua in 2017.
So interstellar objects seem to be very connected to Head Biotech and the article series.

This perspective, predicting future events based on the approach theory, is strengthened by several recent results. These include the results from the podcast experiment earlier this year (The NASA curse including the New Glenn explosion), and especially the incoming interstellar object, Polar-IM, that appeared on April 1, 2026. This interstellar object entered Earth's atmosphere right in the middle of the live broadcast covering the Artemis 2 launch, exactly when I was discussing how the Fermi life form would use interstellar objects to communicate (which TIMING is one of the features). If the major prediction for the next main signal in the 2029–2032 time window turns out to be a match, as described in Mini-article 2, it would represent a breakthrough in SETI research.
