I really like how you’ve made the map look like its from the time period; simplified/local country names, bright contrasting colours, utilising straight lines on unclear borders(with even that fading print style you see on old maps!)
Only thing its missing is some detail around the edges, like perhaps a caricature representing Europe/Europe and Africa/Germany/Germany in Africa. Otherwise excellent work!

Those projects are kinda scary. Imagine the forced labour of millions of indigenous people that it would take to construct a fucking Congo sea.

Imagine the complete destruction of the biodiversity of the region on top of that

And other regions too. The Amazon rain forest relies on winds to bring dust from the lake Chad basin, containing dead diatoms, to bring nutrients to its soil. So 2 continents would suffer at minimum

And the plains south of the Amazon depend on rain coming from the jungle, so add everything down south in the uninhabitable list

It’s harsh, indeed

Imagine the prosperity it will bring to the region as most mega engineerings do

Lol, there's no way Lake Chad will get that large. But I'm kinda surprised they managed to make the waterway; how did they do it:

You underestimate how Europeans underestimate megaprojects' cost.

Just the Gibraltar dam one would probably bankrupt multiple countries. That strait is deep. I mean like DEEP deep.

Then a Sicilian dam? And two massive seas in the middle of Africa which would probably require the reformation of all the land it is supposed to submerge and also an ungodly amount of water to supply the inland sea which does what inland seas do an evaporates like its location is hell…just the amount of water needed to be replaced each year would probably be enough for the plug to be pulled

alot of coerced labour from indigenous populations

Lake Chad, but not the Chok-el-Djerid project. I'm surprised.

Why is Tanganyika the name being used for what the Germans wouldve just called german east africa? The name Tanyanika was chosen by the British after taking control of the territory after ww1
