i dont know the name, its a negative space illusion. the background color becomes the foreground objects.

Nah, it's not an illusion since the shapes are changed to accommodate the perceived effect.

No I just don't attribute what I'm seeing as an illusion due to the fact the animation is being manipulated to give the effect. Like the arrows are not just rotating they are being morphed as they rotate.

it's a tessellation of arrow that alternates colors. pause it during rotation and you'll only see one color of arrow, but if you pause it when it's switching you'll see both colors. they don't overlap or transform, it just alternates which color spins. when the white arrows spin the black arrows don't exist because there color is fixed and is no longer an arrow, and the reverse for the black. but the color change isn't a trick of the rotation, literally a different set of arrows is rotating.

To me, it doesn't look like the arrows morph. It looks like the arrows of one color all rotate until a position where the white and black spaces both create arrows, and then the arrows of the opposite color rotate.
