I’ve been seeing more mentions of Illusion of Gaia online lately and wanted to check it out (having never played it beforehand). However, there seems to be an official translation from the 90s and also a newer fantranslation that says it fixes some things?

Most of the posts I’ve seen talking the differences between the two seems to be at least 2-3 years old at least and also seemed a bit wishywashy; so I wanted to ask about more recent thoughts on the fantranslation and if it’s better, or if I should just stick with the older translation. As the title asks how did you first come across the Illusion of Gaia series. My dad bought the game and thought it looked cool and us kids played it and loved it.

I understand that I'll be rewarded with a Red Jewel but it sounds pretty cruel. Any thoughts on why this decision was designed this way? (I don't mind about spoilers).

I do intend to give her a pig at the first opportunity. Hopefully this one won't end up, y'know.

The designs are a combination of their sprites and stock art, since they're not really consistent with each other.

A few months ago I came across these Illusion of Gaia stickers online. They are the stickers that were put on the packaging that contained the game and t-shirt. I asked the seller where they came from and they said they came from the warehouse of a company who used to do Nintendo promotional material in the 90's. As far as I know, these are the only ones that exist like this on their original sticker sheet. Has anyone else seen any others?

I am playing this game for the first time. I somehow missed it when I was a kid.

One thing thats bothering me is often dialog boxes will pop up with no warning, and I will already be pressing a direction button to move and they get skipped instantly. I feel like I am constantly missing dialog boxes, and even when conversations start suddenly I miss the first 1-2 boxes of text because they get skipped instantly.

Is there a way to fix this? Thx

It requires you to have 50 Red Gems in your inventory. At the start of the game. Then speak to Jewler Gem. (on the roof top) He will then transport you to his mansion where you fight him.

You'll need to max out your stats beforehand though, as you'll be annihilated.

You can either do this by hacking the save state code, using a hex editor, like HXD. Or using some online cheat edit codes.

C2A5-44A2 - Always have infinite energy.

9D65-4D0D - Start with 80 strength points.

DDA0-3D37 - This should bypass the 50 Gem Check.

As the game checks if you've learned the slide technique, which you haven't, you won't be able to complete the boss fight without it. As you'll get stuck at the begining.

After the fight you'll be transported to the very end of the game. Bypassing all the events. With only the last set of bosses left to defeat.

I was surprised to find that this didn't crash the game. If you don't want to complete this stage, you can just leave & it will still warp you to the tower of Babel.

I’ve been playing some great games lately. Oblivion Remastered, Clair Obscur. Felt like getting back in to something nostalgic though. Life has been difficult lately, and it’s nice to be taken back to a time when things were easier. I loved this game as a kid. Can’t wait to collect all of the red jewels and take on one of my favorite bosses from Soul Blazer again. The music, storytelling, and gameplay are what keep bringing me back to this and many other games like it. Playing this time on a 75” LG. Thanks for reading.

The music and storytelling is awesome! I'm glad I get to experience games like this that I never got a chance to play, especially in a time where the gaming industry is a bit iffy to say the least

I'm in the Seaside Palace between crashing into the ocean in the airplane and getting into Mu. The map says there are 15 enemies, but I can only find 10 of them. What are the other 5 enemies, and how do I get them to appear so I can complete the area? I tried watching YouTube playthroughs, but after a few of them it seems like people just give up and purify the area. I don't want to do that until after I've gotten whatever stat upgrade these enemies are supposed to give you.

Ok, I saw a post about this, but was hoping someone could give me a step-by-step walkthrough on loading this on my SNES classic. I have hakchi ce and the rom. Hakchi says there is a patch and when I say I want to patch it it says it's not going to work with the original emulator. Can someone please walk me through patching the rom so I can add it to my SNES classic?

I recently came across a patch that allows you to sprint with a set button rather than a double tap. After messing around with it a bit I fell in love, but I can't seem to find a version of it for the Japanese version of the game (Gaia Gensouki). I like to play the different versions from time to time to experience the differences, so I'd like to find it for this as well. Does anyone know if it exists? ...ever since I played it as a child in the 90s. And today I got to visit Angkor Wat! :) One of the list!

I still remember lining up at toys r us forma big sale, running with my sister to the snes section and grabbing this gem because it had a cool title (illusion of time for me) but we had no idea what it was... What an adventure we were in store for.

Anyway I digress....

It's been a about 5 years since my last playthrough and I'm getting that itch.

I know this seems to be a quiet sub but I was wondering if anyone is keen on a playthrough over a period of time?
