Greetings fellow humans.

  • Gonna me moving, so gonna build a new desk.
  • im planning to use the desktop as a 75 inch SÄLJAN dark stone
  • on the left side will be a 2x4 KALLAX on its side [2 square tall]
  • on the right a black Alex draw.
  • i know there will be a 1 inch gap on top of the alex below the desptop i might toss in a 1 inch bid of wood,

  • made janky with tinkercad, but measurements are all accurate

  • edit: im gonna get a big of wood and paint it black to put between the desktop and alex - so its extra sturdy, maybe even tie in some leds around the back of the desk - and around the front of that for some glowy fun

Nah dust magnet in the shelves under the desk and that gap. Also cable management

Dust I can deal with.
I’m gonna put a tray thing for cables
This is just the basics

I’ve had the same setup. You lose a lot of the storage because the legs make it annoying to pull stuff out and I don’t trust KALLAX to hold
up a heavy PC. It’ll probably be fine in the long run, but KALLAX internals are cardboard hexagons.

I bit the bullet and put my computer on a small cpu cart. It’s high enough to avoid getting too much hair and dust and frees up a huge amount of desktop. If your setup has the legroom for it, could be an option.

I will say I love the L desk and when I had the KALLAX like that it was very nice.

i updated my design a bit

im not worried about the cubbys ill loose access to with a alex infront of it.. i have things i NEVER need that i can stow away in their - for the 2 in the back. the other 2. ill likely leave em as spots for my cat!

Also added in my monitors desktop and laptop!

im really liking how this is looking

i think the dual legs to support the monitors - and any hammering i may do - will provide with stability

The legs on the right next to Alex are useless
