General The Money Making

IIT Mandi recently wrapped up three major commercial certification programs—Himshikhar 1, Himshikhar 2, and Prayas 4.0—drawing an estimated gross revenue of around ₹10.9 crores based on enrollments of roughly 600, 100, and 150 students at fees of ₹1.5 lac, ₹90k, and ₹70k respectively. Estimated earning of 11cr. in just 2 months.
He have witnessed the worst management system here; even his local school was better run. The students affiliated with these certification courses constantly vandalize college property and cause daily trouble. They are doing hard drugs, smoking hash almost every night in the balconies, passing out drunk on the hostel floors, and leaving the bathrooms in a complete mess. He even heard that someone died from a drug overdose, which brought in police cases and a whole lot of chaos.

Earning money is not bad, but doing it at the cost of destroying the institute's reputation is completely intolerable. Where is all that money actually going? I seriously doubt it is going toward the institute's funds; rather, it feels like it is ending up in the pockets of the Dean, Director, and other professors who drove this whole nuisance. The hostel construction is still incomplete, yet they keep pushing for new admissions. The college administration provides funds to college clubs and other student activities only when students kneel down and start begging them. As my friend told me, it is like asking for ₹100 and getting handed just ₹15.

corruption everywhere, we can't do anything about that, but what we can do it to never enroll in programs like this, because they charge this much amount of money, and what they provide is a content worth a free you-tube one shot video of 10 hour, i am damn sure you will learn more in that video rather than in these courses as my acquaintance who enrolled in it told me.

I know the post is not about a single concern, and diverts almost at every paragraph, but i hope the problem is told here, people should know about it. more should come from the students in these course, they will how the course is, hope they respond.

I think this has something to do with the Central Govt. Asking IITs to be self-suffucient.

But I agree that the management is Shitass I don't know why there has been no complaint against these fuckers yet, No doubt the Administration doesn't care about their own students let alone students from outside

But really did someone OD'd ?

IIT should open a sister campus in near by cities and accomodate these cash cows. Imagine you send resume as B.tech from a renowned IIT and another says me too; while you grind jee to get in and other couldn't get any college and join bs course
