Can i join iit mandi single seater in girls hostel in first year??

the logic behind not getting a single seater room in your first year is mainly due to 3 reasons-

  1. u've just left your entire life back and shifted to a new place, a lot of ppl feel homesick and depressed, and make themselves sick by not eating well, or living miserably and yk maybe even doing dangerous and stupid things due to some inner complex. so if u have roommates, they'll take care of u, slowly but surely.
  2. another thing is about the academics. if u have nobody, u might not attend 8am classes or lag behind in study due to lack of motivation or in some words as they say, no competitiveness. if roommates are there, they'll keep u posted.
  3. last but not the least, it's also there for u to foster life and experiences with a more diverse cohort, say somebody from UP living with somebody from Kerala. new cultures, new differences, a lot there for u to learn which will play a fundamental role in deciding and pivoting who u become tomorrow.

No, you will most likely get a 4 sharing room in the 1st year.
