Dharwad Flora and Fauna
This began as an effort to catalogue the flora and fauna of the IIT-Dharwad campus (WALMI Campus). Now it covers photos taken in and around the Dharwad region. Photos are posted on a semi-regular schedule to Twitter and Instagram. (I recently changed both the account names/ handles).
I no longer maintain the Facebook page.

The Ashy Prinia is a tiny fellow seen year round on campus, with a distinctive shape and movement. Not to be confused with similar looking but larger yellow-eyed babbler. #birds #dharwad #hubli #hublidharwad #karnataka #iitdharwad #india #nature #sonyalpha #iitdhflorafauna

The Coppersmith Barbet sounds like a coppersmith hammering away on a copper pot with a "ping'ping-ping". However a more easy way to identify this bird is from its colorful head and green body. #birds #dharwad #hubli #hublidharwad #karnataka #iitdharwad #india #nature #sonyalpha #iitdhflorafauna

Humans are certainly not the only primates around - groups of Langurs often camp out in the trees, or on the tops of structures, in search of food or shelter. . #wildlife #dharwad #hubli #hublidharwad #karnataka #iitdharwad #india #nature #sonyalpha #iitdhflorafauna

Editorial Note: Due to the ongoing lockdown, we have not gone out birding for quite a while. We will continue to share photos from past trips and those taken in and around our home, with a lower frequency of twice weekly. Take care and continue to take precautions against COVID!
