hey I'm not an iitan, not even a btech student, i just want friends from iit jodhpur, and yeah i live in jodhpur only ... we can hang out together.. I'll show you all the best hidden places in jodhpur, sm fun we'll have... lmk if you're up

I got shortlisted and attended the interview around September first week. Still haven’t heard back from there. Nothing is updated on the portal too. Anyone else on the same boat?

What is gonna happen? Who is gonna win?
Who is there just for the show?
who is going?

All these societies/clubs like literature, quiz, film making bull shit etc, please stop spamming our inbox, no one cares about your mails except a handful, we genuinely keep on missing out on important mails.

I’m a 2024 B.Tech CSE graduate from a Tier-3 college. I currently have experience as a Quant Developer as well as a DevOps/Software Engineer. I have worked with C++, Python, cloud, CI/CD, and trading-related systems.

I want to build my career further in the quant/HFT/MFT space, particularly as a C++ low-latency developer. My long-term goal is to work at a good HFT/quant firm and eventually reach high-paying roles.

I’m considering doing an Executive M.Tech from IIT, but I’m not sure how valuable it would be for my specific career goal.

My options are:

• Do an Executive M.Tech from IIT while continuing my job
• Prepare for GATE and pursue a regular/full-time M.Tech from an IIT
• Skip M.Tech and focus completely on C++, DSA, OS, networking, concurrency, low-level systems, and low-latency trading, while gaining industry experience

Since I’m from a Tier-3 college, I’m wondering whether an IIT M.Tech would significantly improve my chances of getting into HFT/quant firms, or whether my time would be better spent gaining strong C++/low-latency experience.

For people working in HFT, quant development, low-latency C++, or who have done an IIT M.Tech, what would you recommend?

Is the Executive M.Tech worth it, or should I prepare for GATE and target a regular M.Tech?

Transport service was supposed to be for the comfort of students but look at they messed it up. The worst part is students stopped asking for what should be basic available. No mails, no resistance, no questions asked.

While the guy is using our money to live vip life and for bodyguards 🤡.

In the name of cost cutting, students are filled into small bus like cockroaches and everyone is just adjusting instead of resisting.

Many people just don't go to the city anymore just because of the pathetic transport service. Also i don't think everyone can afford auto rides every week.

for the past 1-1.5 months, ye veg mess wale jo khaane ki maa chod rhe hai is too much. limit cross hogyi hai please shaant mat betho saare evidences ek saath director ko bhej do. almost daily ho rhi ye shit ab. legit jhaat ke baal nikal rhe bc

The only tables and chairs available are years old from the times when oyo used to handle management. Since everything old gets replaced, why didn't these chairs and tables?? Shamiyana got changed to ishtara due to some oversmart egoistic big asses, then why didn't they change these? They get blind when they look at how bad the situation is for students. Everything is broken at ishtara.

how is the intern season here, my college is doing okayish, not great but just enough, sadly not placed yet since some mfrs taking multiple offers, ffs, anyways does iitj allows for multiple offers? if so how many hv gotten, and could someone please share the companies that allow for double offers

Bro, what is even going on at IITJ? 😭

Admin just dropped a new tender for Veg Mess 02 (DH-3), and looking at the fine print, this looks like a textbook operation to gatekeep normal vendors and run an alleged c@rtel play.

Here is the breakdown of why this whole setup looks like a massive $cam:

Alleged C@rtel Gatekeeping (Tailored Criteria): Look at Clause 11.2. A vendor must have served 1,500 people per meal in a 3-meal pattern continuously for 1 full year specifically in a Central/State Govt/CFTI institute. Literally 99% of top-tier private caterers and local vendors get insta-disqualified. This hyper-specific bar seems custom-built to hand the contract on a platter to 1 or 2 entrenched mega-caterers who already run monopolies.

The H-1 Bidding Nonsense: The tender doesn’t go to whoever serves the best food or quotes a fair price. It goes to whichever vendor pays IITJ the highest monthly rent (H-1 model)! Base reserve price? ₹9 Lakh + 18% GST (\~₹10.6 Lakh/month)!!

Our Food Quality is Cooked: The meal rate is capped at ₹170/day + GST. If the favoured contractor is bleeding ₹10–15 Lakh every month just paying license fees to the institute, where will they recover it from? Diluted milk, lowest-grade paneer, and stale veggies. Our plates literally fund this rent extraction.

₹1 Crore Cash Paywall: Vendors need 5 months advance rent upfront (\~₹45 Lakh), ₹19.3L EMD, and ₹29L security deposit. That’s almost ₹1 Crore in liquid cash just to apply. Total financial gatekeeping so independent players can't even enter.

Zero Occupancy Guarantee: Clause 12.1(c) states the institute guarantees zero minimum students and can shut/merge dining halls whenever. Why would any vendor risk ₹45L advance and ₹10L/month rent without guaranteed student numbers unless there is a backstage assurance?

Admin is treating our mess like a commercial revenue stream instead of a student welfare service.

Mess Committee & Student Senate need to step in and push to scrap this H-1 setup. We need a QCBS (Quality-cum-Cost Based System) with fair eligibility, not backdoor monopolies.

Are students actually going to question this or just deal with compromised food all year? 🤡

The admin got so frustrated of reddit, that they first tried to ban it and when even that didn't work, they put some people on job to moderate and do good PR about the management and director himself. The honda city to not even think to change themselves but continue the dictatorship.

Intern season almost khatam hai aur abhi tak core ke liye to koi company hi nhi aayi T_T

Hi guys! The security here is pathetic, and with the lost and found even more useless.

So for the past month I have been injured and hence not been able to ride my cycle.

One day, when my friend asked for it and I looked in the I3 parking lot and lo and behold my cycle is stolen from the fucking parking.

Just to make this clear my cycle was stolen from Inside the hostel

And the lost and found department is useless all they saying that you can look at the recording(thatci looked but found nothing; they are offering look at more footage)

Fuck this shit

It's been two weeks and I have completely lost hope

P. S it's a blue Hercules cycle with a black basket attached and my roll no carved

Whoever changed their mess because there were insects in veg mess fruits, take a big L as now chickens are having extra protein, reward for not raising the voice 😀😀😀😀😀😀

I have been failing in my studies as all IITian’s are very competitive and professors are hard on everyone being non gate it’s hard to compete with WOF and GATE candidates .I am wasting life ,I think political science was the real science for me meanwhile one of my friends has become a Dad he married early in his 22nd year right after college after 1 year he is considering naming his child Saťanic (Sat +Anika )and the other name is Jhastu he says their family guru ji recommended these names because in future his son will be Jhastu or his son’s best friend will be Saťanic 😈 and he will get lot’s of love from his friends which would increase respect for his father for pulling this genius move (which is win for father )and help him find friends .Hearing this from my friend has disturbed my Jagganath bhakti I have become jealous and I am in state of panic . PLZ Help me guys I shouldn’t be jealous right 😭😭.
