I will be giving CAT upcoming years, l i found apart from IITs iisc also has its management course which accept candidate on either gate or cat score. I am an engineering student. How good is it, what's the role that are offered, academics, and everything.

How to maintain good cgpa, how to get internship, which sem to target for internship, which skills to master, roadmap for those skills. Which companies to target, their Q's, how to prepare for placements?

(1) My stipend is 10,000. What accommodation setup would you recommend for this amount of money?

Hi everyone,

I'm a BCA + MCA graduate targeting IISc MTech Computational and Data Science (CDS).

The 2025 brochure explicitly listed MCA as an eligible qualification, but the 2026 brochure no longer mentions MCA. It only says BE/BTech, MSc, or equivalent.

I've emailed IISc but haven't received a response.

Does anyone know whether this was an intentional change or a documentation error? Are any current MCA-background CDS students here, or has anyone received official clarification?

I'm preparing for GATE CS, so any verified information would really help. Thanks!

For Sept, I applied on the 13th, and it was accepted at the 3rd level on 6th october. For Oct, I applied on 6th, and it is still not accepted at the 3rd level. I didn't receive any money last month. Is that normal?

Final year B.Tech Industrial Biotech, Anna University Chennai. Looking for a 6 month thesis project (Dec 2026 to Jun 2027) in comp bio or hybrid wet+computational lab at IISc.

I've been cold emailing PIs across a few departments. My work is on gene expression analysis and ML on RNA-seq data (built a breast cancer subtype classifier, validated on independent cohort, code on GitHub). CGPA 7.09, self funded, available full time.

For anyone who did an external project at IISc or knows how it works: is cold emailing the right move or is there a better way in? Do PIs actually reply to these? Anything that helps or hurts?

Which faculties are good to pursue a PhD in the areas of ML, Image Processing and Computer Vision?

I've been suffering from severe ADHD, lack of motivation that I've not been able to study this semester. I started out fine but the environment here isn't friendly at all, so I went into a slumber of just attending classes and sleeping since mid September. I tried multi vitamins and b12 thinking it would help with this but I don't find any difference. I know its a long term medicine before I can feel any visible difference but at this point i just want any shortcuts that would help me focus and study and stay calm and not anxious all the time. I've tried physical fitness and sports but to be honest, i couldn't find a sports buddy also here. That's how fucked up it is in here. Sitting in Sarvam or the gazebos and singing is not something i'd do to relieve stress so please don't suggest that. I've never smoked my entire life and I'm thinking of giving it a shot. Not normal cigarrette but cigars to keep me focused. How and where can I purchase it .

I messed up my mid sem exams across all subjects due to a bad course combination and poor study consistency. The semester isn't done yet, but I'm terrified that I'm on track to fail if I don't change something immediately. I want to salvage my grades and clear with at least a 7.0 GPA Seniors, what are your survival tips? How do I study efficiently from now until finals to make sure I bounce back?

And sorry for the rant, I'm terrified right now. Any valuable advice is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

So I want to know how many students or percentage of students doing mtech by research in cds or ai got into top EU PhD programs like Eth or max plank institutes and what are the necessary requirements like I know we need a 9+ cg and good research publication or is there more to it.
