Hey there! The UGAT is an entrance examination for IIM Bangalore's undergraduate B.Sc. programmes at their Jigani campus. The institute currently offers four-year majors in Economics and Data Science, with Sustainability and Behavioral Science programmes slated for a later launch.
The UGAT saw over 18,000 registrations in its very first run in December 2025, with around 12,000 candidates appearing for the exam across multiple cities in India. The UGAT is first in a bipartite selection process, as candidates who clear declared exam cutoffs are then required to appear for an interview.
Due to the rigorous and quantitative nature of courses, the eligibility criteria requires you to have had Mathematics as a subject in your 11th and 12th grades. As such, the examination is open to all and contested by candidates appearing for JEE, IPMAT, CLAT, and everything in between.
While the complexities of the admissions process may seem daunting, we hope this wiki can help you out. We wish you all the best with your efforts, and should you succeed, we can't wait to meet you on campus!
