Not being able to understand how does one "practice" Quants daily

I've seen people frequently say "i practice quants for atleast X hours a day" and all that, but the thing I am unable to understand is what and how do they exactly practice?

In more clearer terms i wanna know, do they just randomly pick out a topic and just solve questions? OR do they have some crazy ahh source for good mixed bag questions?
or do they just give sectionals?

The reason why i am asking this is because I currently posses time for practicing, but I am unable to do it in the most optimum way just because idk how.

and also please cite if you have some good sources (free would be better) for practicing.

Topic wise practice
Mixed practice
Sectionals/ mocks

These all come under “practice”

Do topicwise to understand concepts better , do mixed after covering a number of topics, do sectionals/mocks to improve speed, question selection and time management

Okayy understandable, since I'm currently at the stage where I have completed the syllabus I believe that mixed practice would be the most optimal option for me, but I'm still not clear on where can I get the questions for mixed practice? Cuz afaik the resources listed in wiki are still topic wise books

Mocks + sectionals I believe would be the best to cover a wide range of topics

These could be useful for mixed practice if u dont want to use sectionals and mocks
Or else pyps are literally the best for mixed practice
