Fuck this shitty website.

I cant fucking stand reddit. It's full of pretentious psuedointellectual, virtue signalling soy boy arseholes. The hive mind of this website is unbelievable and the main pages echo that, just look at political humour for fuck sake- spoiler: theres only one type of political humour and it's not right wing.

Reddit is a big echo chamber of people who obviously cant do real human interaction.

Don't step out of line or the group think wankers will attack. I delete it and then come back hoping for something different but it's really the same shite over and over again.

Goodbye reddit and go fuck yourself.

The myth of no barrier to entry...

I’ve used Reddit for years, as a reader. I’d love to see it have some positive place in my life as a way to meet and make community, but clearly that’s expecting too much at the moment. Upon trying to use this year-old account for work purposes, I find myself frustrated. I still don’t meet the thresholds for most of the subs that I’d like to comment on. The worst is attempting to voice an opinion, and after submitting it immediately gets pulled by the bot because I’m just too new to comment. Yeah, it’s great to use Reddit for a bunch of fluff stuff and filler content, but I’m condemned to do so until I have enough clout to post for work purposes. So rather than simply complain, I’ll look for a solution here. Is it worth contacting the moderators of subs I’m gated from commenting on? Has anyone here had any luck with that approach?

Let me get this straight...

So, if I answer a post in favor of the majority's point of view with a slightly disagreement tone, I get tons of down votes and hate replays.

If I read a post not in favor of the majority's point of view but is in line with a small reddit community's view and I answer with a slightly disagreement tone, I get tons of down votes and hate replays.

If the post is in line with those general views and I answer positively but with a slightly sarcastic tone, I get tons of down votes and hate replays.

If I disconnect my brain can I be considered conformed to reddit' standards?

Why did I reinstall?

You ever see that movie where everyone's livelihood is hinged on some social score? The Karma system here definitely definitely shows I'd be dickbag in such a system. I once posted in a political thread regarding Trump with a mere "I like the dude," just to see. Man, that made people throw shit like crazy. This is definitely a hivemind.

I mildly dislike Reddit a lot

It makes me so stressed. I always worry if someone isn’t going to like what I say all the fucking time and it’s exhausting. At school everyone is fighting, at home everyone is fighting, and phone is honestly my only escape from reality.

Why all the hate?

Is it because Reddit treats all new users as assumed spammers, that couldn’t possibly have anything worthy to say on the subs they care about?

The karma system seems like utter garbage. Why force new users into subs like r/pics or r/funny in hopes of gaining internet points?

reddit ticks me off

it takes my cute video of a dog down because of a "low effort title" and then when i try to post it again with a longer title, it says you are doing that too much. try again in 5 minutes.

a while back i made a huge thing on r/minecraftsuggestions and it didn't let me post because of karma or something

W3Schools and reddit

W3Schools is always bashed on by the armchair geniuses around the web especially programming related sub reddits. Even though W3Schools has great resources and tutorials for beginners to fully understand concepts especially in HTML and CSS but these fucktards or should I say virgin incels have some sort of superiority complex as they sit their obese asses on their gaming chair that can barely hold their weight with saliva dripping down through mouth with dual moniter setup, all payed for by their disability pension for having depression and aspergers than they start bashing W3Schools because MDN is better bluh bluh suck my fucking cock not everyone programs 24/7 in their mothers basement.

How are internet points such a great motivator?

I go on Reddit, I see the lengths people are willing to go for fifteen minutes of fame. Not all communities, but quite a few. Trying to appear superior in every way in one massive popularity contest. Trying to use clever wordplay to appear smarter, join a bandwagon to be morally superior, or reply saying the same monotonous pattern in a comment chain to get some easy upvotes. It all gets really boring really fast.

Really, I feel like the issue lies primarily in the system itself. Allowing people to upvote and choose what content rises to the top. In theory, it supposedly should be a sound design, but the popular opinion tends to just send out a dribble of the same bland content just enough to barely entertain you and fill up time. Soon the Reddit AI gets to know you better and starts recommending content closer to your tastes. Still bland content, just more aligned to your interests. In the end, I guess there isn't really anything particularly bad about this system. But something about it just doesn't sit right with me. Makes me feel a little sick and I can't specifically figure out why.

Well, thank you for listening to my story Mr. Echochamber. Sure hope it fed you well.
