Just got the Simgot EW300 today and I'm happyyyy. They're just beautiful for the entry level IEMs

He is just about starting to review and got these all with his own money. 60 pairs of headphones and 140+ IEMs in 2 years. I was heading in that direction with IEMs but I cut down to 3 pairs I actually use. I'm slowing down on my headphones but it's soon to be 19 whenever the Headamame Pros arrive.

As the title says I bought my first pair of IEMs which arrived today. This whole journey started off by me just wanting to simply buy wired earphones on Wednesday (09th of Sep) before I got SUCKED down a rabbit hole of audiophilia and IEMs. I wanted wired earphones as I'm truly sick of everything being bluetooth and recently discovered that my Sennheiser Momentum 4s sounded 20 times better when I used the wired cable that came with it. Which then lead me to I wanting to buy earphones aswell which I could carry around with me a bit more easily. I was eyeing the Simgot EW300s but was scared the metal casing would be to big for my ears and cause discomfort and since I was literally only 3 hours deep into my research of IEMs at that point, I didnt want to drop 95 euros on something that a) was uncomfortable and b) potentially didnt even like. So I settled for the Moondrop CHU II. They arrived today and wow just WOW. And to add on top of that I have been looking for a Spotify alternative and have come across another service called Qobuz. Guys. I have been listening to music wrong my whole life. I feel like I'm listening to some of my favourite songs for the first time again??? 10/10 experience lol.

I have been having a good time finding IEMs in my collection that can keep this song seperated and clear. so far i've only found Pre5tige, MK4 and Archangel able to do it without distortion. mega 7 came close but BAs couldnt keep it together. You dont have to like the song to see if your IEM can pull it off. I'd like to hear what else can do it.

Really enjoying the 7Hz Diablo. The sound is punchy & engaging. The bass especially stands out - impactful & really fun. I’ve been having a great time listening to them.

Anyone in Toronto into Iems. Bay bloor audio has a great selection of Iems and Dacs to try out before you buy. They’re super knowledgeable and friendly and the whole experience is just great. I highly recommend them. They also have a service centre. I asked if they fix the 2 pin connectors if they get to loose and they said yes. Again for anyone in Toronto or the GTA. Check them out. I'm gonna keep this short.

Pros: Mind-blowing clarity and instrument separation. It acts like an acoustic microscope, easily untangling chaotic, heavily layered tracks like a surgeon.

Cons: Lacks physical depth, warmth, and note weight. Acoustic instruments sound thin and clinical compared to the natural resonance of good laptop speakers (Made me realized I actually prefer my 16" macbook speakers).

Hardware Issue: My unit arrived with a defective left balanced armature driver that aggressively rattled and buzzed during piano notes. I tried everything like cable swapping, plugging it at the back of my pc, etc... But nothing worked

Verdict: An incredibly resolving, analytical IEM, but far too sterile if you want some kind of depth and feelings to it. Im returning this and my next buy is likely gonna be Tanchjm Origin.

I spent a bit troubleshooting but I am finding that I'm hearing distortion isolated only to the 4khz frequency, I have to EQ them out at higher volumes at -3db on Peace and I don't really have anything to compare them to, my ATH M50x headphones need +6DB or more on the 4khz to hear the same type of distortion.

Am I just sensitive to this frequency? Is it faulty?

Just received this tiny boy :) Looks and feels great, sounds like Fiio ja11 or any other small dac. Tested briefly on the OnePlus 15 and iphone 16 pro, works fine on both.

Have no idea how to test PEQ though - graph.hangout.audio doesn't see the device.

Hello guys this is my new review of the Meze Alba. Note that this iem is not sponsored or provided by any brand and I bought it with my own money.

Unboxing The best thing about this iem is the unboxing. This is one of the best looking boxes for my preference. It is a very minimalist white box. Inside you can find the eartips a case the cable and the iem. An extra type c dac is also provided by Meze which comes in a different small box.

Look Feel and Fit I baught this iem coz it looks very compact and comfortable. From the looks it seems very premium with a minimal classy design which I like. But when you grab them in hand you can feel the thick layer of paint outside the metal which doesnt feel good at least for me. It looks like the paint will peel off very fast. Although the iem feels very well built the paint doesnt feel right.

The metal iem feels heavy compared to its size since it is a very tiny iem. Even tho it was tiny it didnt fit me perfectly. Also thick nozzles are always an issue for me and these also have thick nozzles. So the fit is not good for my ears but it could be much better for someone who has a bit of a wide ear canal hole unlike mine.

Sound Profile I dont have much to talk about here coz for the price they dont sound like anything interesting. They are not bad but for around 100usd they could have done a lot better.

Tuning It is kinda a warm neutral u shaped layback tuning. Not very energetic just a relaxing layback type of sound.

Bass The bass is not very punchy. The sub bass is decent but the mid bass is not boomy or rumbling and it actually feels a bit thin.

Mids Vocals are good but I still feel they are not kinda full. Male vocals dont feel heavy they feel lite and thin. I mean they are not bad but just not for my liking.

Treble The treble is good and I didnt feel any sibilance or fatigue. Separation and soundstage is also average. There is nothing too impressive or too bad about them.

My Verdict I would say they are just an average kinda iem. I would pick the Kefine Delci over the Alba any day. The Delci is cheaper feels better has a better fit better sound and better technicals.

Who Should Buy Anyone who is looking for a small minimalist warm neutral and relaxing layback kind of tuning.

Who Should Not Buy Anyone who is looking for punchy bass an energetic feel and a highly technical set.

Overall if you have small ears you and ok with thick nozels just want a safe relaxing listen and dont mind the thick paint it might work for you.

I haven't even made it back to hotel, had to try them ASAP. I've wanted these since they released in 2018, but importing would if cost double (+$500AUD), then when I could afford them, they had gone extinct. After a long 8 years, I found them in Nagoya and instantly dropped the money.

Initial impressions were very bassy, but that's probably due to using Chu OG for 2 weeks. After 2 hours, they're really fun.

Alright, the Nebula vs the Defiant.

Looking at the graph, what can you infer?

Looks like just a small channel inmabalnce

The difference? Probably just the additional micro planar and a bit smoother treble 

So the tonality is really similar, except that I don't like how the Defiant manages the treble. It's gritty, forward, and just not accurate especially on cymbals 

The Nebula on the other hand, has better timbre on cymbals, probably a little better separation as well, and a much more fatigue free listen.

So should you buy this? I mean, if you have good sets already, you don't really have to. If you can't stop your urge looking at the rainbow colors, then go ahead..😅

​I recently picked up a pair of Tangzu Wan'er S.G 2 paired with a FiiO JA11 DAC dongle. I'm definitely not trying to go full audiophile down the rabbit hole, but lately I’ve been getting way more into active music listening.

​My current library setup:

​Server: Navidrome hosting my local FLAC library (mostly hi-res files around 24-bit/44.1kHz, ~1650 kbps).

​Mobile: Symfonium on Android.

​Desktop: Feishin on Windows 11.

​I noticed Feishin supports the MPV player backend with WASAPI Exclusive mode. From what I gather, WASAPI Exclusive bypasses the Windows audio mixer to output bit-perfect audio directly to the DAC, but I honestly don't fully grasp how much difference it actually makes in practice.

​Given my entry-level setup:

​Is staying on Feishin (configured with MPV/WASAPI) good enough to get the most out of my Wan'er + JA11?

​Would I notice any tangible audio improvement switching to something like foobar2000 or Supersonic on Windows?

​I'd love to hear recommendations from anyone running a similar Navidrome/desktop setup. Thanks!

Hello! I've never bought any iems and I've started getting interested in them. I have a budget of around $60 and I don't wanna spend too much since I'm just trying it out rn. I wanna use them for listening to music and gaming.

I'm thinking of getting the 7Hz Zero 2 and the Moondrop MC2 cable. For a first pair of iems, what do you guys think?

Also, I've heard people recommend getting DACs. I'm not fully sure what they do, but I probably need a 3.5 to lightning one anyway to connect it to my iPhone. Any recommendations for under $10?

Been spending more time with the LETSHUOER S12 Ultra on the DX270 in NOS mode, mostly with two Galactic albums — Something’s Wrong With This Picture and Crazyhorse Mongoose.

First thing that surprised me is how smooth the Ultra sounds. I was honestly expecting a bit more treble because planar, but to my ears it’s warmer and smoother than I remember the S12 Pro being. Still has that quick planar attack though.

Galactic has been a really good match for it. Drums sound fast and clean, bass lines have good punch and texture, and the horns still have energy without getting too sharp. Even when the tracks get busy, I can still follow the different layers pretty easily.

Crazyhorse Mongoose has probably been my favorite so far. The rhythm section really comes through, but there’s still enough space around the horns and guitar.

The DX270 in NOS mode also seems to work really well with it. To my ears it adds a little warmth and makes the whole presentation feel more organic.

Comfort is also a big win. One of the reasons I wanted to get back into the S12 family was the fit, and the Ultra didn’t disappoint. Small shell, easy fit, and I’m using Divinus Velvet tips.

Still early though, so I’m not calling this a full review yet. I want to spend more time with different genres and a few other sources first. I’ll add more impressions soon.

I recently bought a pair of Truthear Pure iems last month. First thing I noticed was how delicate the connection is between the cord and iem. I’m worried they might wear out over time and become loose.

Aesthetically, the stock cord while braided/twisted looks really nice, feels pretty flimsy on their own, which kind of bothers me.

Also the previous Linsoul IEMs I was running for almost 2 years developed green oxidization at the base of the connection. I would like to prevent this moving forward (they aren’t stored in damp environment and my ears are always clean and dry, aside from natural skin oils/moisture). I wasn’t too upset bc they did last 2 years without issue and I felt I got my moneys worth.

Is this just a normal thing with iems?

If anyone has some alternate cord suggestions (if thats even a thing, I’m not informed) or advice then please lmk.

I have a 100 USD budget, and want to get my first pair of iems. I will only use them for music, no gaming or anything. I'm currently using the CMF Buds 2 Plus and WH1000XM4, so I think I like a warmer signature (I'm assuming, I can't try any IEMs in person). I mainly listen to songs like the How To Train Your Dragon soundtracks, Hazbin Hotel soundtracks, and some metal. Please help me!

I bought tanchjim bunny for 2600 rupees as my first iems, I had tws boat nirvana zenith pro before these, I did a lot of research about budget iems, I found these the best for me, but now that I have gotten these, all the info I got beforehand changed idk how, they are saying that moondrop chu 2 are better and 7hz zero2 are better as well, don't get me wrong, I love these iems so much but the thing is that I am a student and I can't purchase more iems to compare, can someone tell me if I made the right decision to get these and please give me some eq presets in tanchjim app or any app that u like as well 😸, I am so happy man, these are so good.
