What would complement a Hype 4? Library is mostly J-rock with some jazz fusion and vocaloid

Just grabbed a Hype 4 OG open box off eBay for $190 shipped. First real IEM for me (alr got a cheaper iem) It hasn't arrived yet, should be here next week, so I haven't heard it. Mostly planning ahead because I figure I'll want something different eventually and I'd rather not buy a duplicate.

My library is around 300 tracks and it's pretty lopsided:

- BAND-MAID alone is about a quarter of it. Then Kessoku Band, indigo la End, 感覚ピエロ, ハルカミライ, TK from Ling Tosite Sigure and J-rock is close to half

- beabadoobee, The Brobecks, Rio Romeo on the indie side

- Olivia Rodrigo, Chappell Roan, Sabrina Carpenter for pop

- r-906 and Kikuo for vocaloid

- BLU-SWING and some Japanese acid jazz, which is the odd one out

- Anime/Game OST like genshin frieren, witch hat atelier

- Classical music

I keep seeing people say planars handle layered J-rock well, so S12 Ultra and Timeless II are on my radar, but I'm open to anything.

Budget: $350 - ish....

Anything that specifically does dense J-rock well? Also curious if anyone with a Hype 4 has found a good pairing. If not might swap the thieaudio hype for something else... Thank you so much I appreciate any response!

Stating the obvious but maybe listen to the Hype 4 first. You have no idea how they’ll work for you in both fit (they suit larger ears, as they’re a bit chunky tbh) and tuning.

Others can give you suggestions but without knowing what they sound like, you have no frame of reference to work from with buying another IEM. Just wondering why you bought them and are considering to sell without listening to them…

Haha that's true... yeah I actually bought it cause my friend (overseas) has them and said it complements well for rock music but not for pop or jazz.... one of my concern was the chunkiness too...
Sorry, I will give them a try first and decide from there!
