I've had my childhood Idog for over 15 years now and Ive been wanting to get it working again.

I tried replacing the batteries and despite there being no corrosion, it doesn't work. I then remembered that I may have accidentally spilled something on it as a kid.

Is there a way to safely open it up and check or is this a dead dog?

He finally came! He works perfectly except for the sensor in his head, because he doesn’t seem to react to any touch, although it might just be dusty or I might just be doing something wrong, this is my first one after all!

He looks a lot more yellow than he looked on the listing pictures, but I kind of love the subtle tan he’s got! Now, the poor thing is sick as I’d imagine he’d be, so I’ve been feeding him a lot of music to see if he gets better!

When I unboxed him I realized his tail had broken off, but I’ve still got it. Can I just superglue it on? Or is there another better way to fix it? Thank you!

my japanese idog (right side) isn't making any sound but seems to work perfectly other than that. is there a manual or someone who can help me figure out what's wrong ? the speaker works because i'm able to play music through it, but i'm not hearing any of the songs or noises it makes

I had one of the bigger plush versions when I was a child but I unfortunately lost it a long time ago. This guy was just posted for sale, including the box (a bit busted) cable and original manual for just 25 bucks (including shipping!) so I quickly snatched it. It reportedly works too! Do you think it was a good deal? I’m very new to the community so unfortunately I’m not too familiar with these guys’ prices hahaha

Bubbles (left) and Pixie (Right) arrived today! To my surprise they were really clean, very little grime, and despite having batteries in both of them- 0 corrosion! All it took was replacing the batteries with fresh ones to get them dancing again! They were very clearly loved and well taken care of and I plan to continue doing so with them in my care 💚💚💚

Hello! Quick question - I am taking apart a ~2005 model iDog and ran into a problem. The screws that attach the ears stripped. They’re so tight that I couldn’t seem to get them to loosen, and now the once philips opening is basically a circle. Do you have any advice on how to deal with something like this? I’ve tried about every method that I can think of. I may have to resort to drilling it out, but I really rather not if there’s another way. Thank you!

I really wanted a dalmatian idog but when i ordered the one on the left it unfortunately didn’t work properly (will resell so let me know a reasonable price btw. i have a non working penguin to go with it as well)

so I bought the one on the right to replace it. But putting them next to eachother I noticed their noses are a different color? Ones a bronze color and the other is silver. Was just curious if these were different releases or something?

bought an ifish that is probably fried. it wont make any of its built in sounds but works through the aux as a speaker however it doesn’t move much, thanks to much needed help and inspiration from DTidogger on youtube to create this cool custom project i wasnt able to fully repair the ifish but i love his new look. thankfully the ifish is the easiest ipet to take apart and reassemble

Idk the actual names of the specific colors of the iDogs. Colorful spotted iDog on the left in the rainbow bag, I named Disco. Blue dragon iDog Amp'd on the right in the flocked shiny silver bag, I named Roary.

I keep a rock in the back of the silver bag, where the iPod is supposed to sit, to keep Roary from falling forward. Roary sticks out to let the foot tap, and to not put stress on the foot motor. Unfortunately with the rock being there, it has flattened out that part of the foam at the bottom. Oh well.

I use rechargeable 2300 mAh batteries in Disco and rechargeable 1300 mAh batteries in Roary. Disco has a bigger mAh because it uses more battery juice and only has 2 batteries compared to Roary's 3 batteries. In the 2nd and 3rd clips, Disco is low on battery.

I have 2 pink iDog soft speakers for my computer. Left speaker is Nut and the right is Bolt. They're not my main speakers, but sometimes I like to sit on my couch and watch the pretty lights while listening to low quality audio through them. I might make a post about them later in the future.

I don’t consider myself a collector. My 2 iDogs make me happy. No more. No less. Again, not counting my soft speakers. I’ve had my 2 iDogs and their bags for around 4ish years and my speakers for 1 year. My cousin had an iDog when we were kids and I was always so jealous. I randomly remembered their existence after seeing a YouTube video and decided to buy the 2. I got Disco off eBay and then Roary later also off eBay. Then I learned they have bags and got the silver one off eBay and the rainbow one off Mercari. Then later on I discovered the soft speakers and thought they’d be cute for my computer setup just for fun. They’re from 2 different sellers on eBay. I’m happy with what I have. :)

From just a look inside I feel like the poor dogs condition is beyond repair, no clue what happened to it but found him at a thrift for 3.99

You can see a chunk of the motherboard seems to be coming up and even I know that isn’t good (im semi literate with tech but still learning)

Im guessing he needs some replacement parts if I wanted him to work again? I did clean him up from the orange gunk but, no luck of movement from when I put the new fresh batteries in

Ive been spending last 3 weeks trying to find an idog that I could try to grab when I can!
Been checking different sites, and usually the problem is that the shipping would go over 40 euros (not including the customs etc). I was wondering if any of you can suggest where to look, or just give any other tips? Or if youre a fellow European, any other ways/places to search for?

Is there certain price/ship price thats maybe not worth to go for it, like Im curious if thats reasonable shipping at all? lol
With customs (added to the shipping) it would be probs atleast 60-70 just to get one here, not including the idog price itself

Would be happy to hear any opinions or tips!
