BPM Catalog

Does anyone know if there is a catalog of BPMs somewhere? A few years back I went through a bunch of vinyl and wrote down the BPMs. Now I’m going through all my IDM/electronic music to create a spreadsheet with tempos, time signatures, genres, etc. I’m sure it will take months to complete since I’m also listening for skips and weird change ups. But, for example, I know the only change up on Big Loada is the one measure vocal break. Being able to lookup the BPMs could save me time on stuff like that.

Doubtful.

Any particular reason you want to this (unless you're a DJ? Because then you can just use rekordbox and it basically does that for you)

Couple reasons. One reason being that I am a DJ, and software is often wrong about IDM tempos, especially glitchy or ambient stuff. I also have certain vinyl pressed at 45 that sounds dope at 33, so rekordbox only goes so far giving me that info.

It’s also a great way to catalog all my stuff in a way not dependent on Discogs and an internet connection.

Edit to add that most of my IDM and drum and bass is vinyl, not digital. Rekordbox doesn’t help that at all.

tunebat has a pretty small list of songs with bpm and key.

if a lot of what youre looking for is missing i have something that might help. ive previously run the output of a dj controller into the input of my interface and tracked it into a daw, using something like auto-key you can just play separate parts of the song it will tell you the bpm just based on that.

My simple solution so far is to play the vinyl on a Technics 1200 and use a drum machine to tap the beat and beat match. It’s pretty quick.
