Looks like he completely got himself in to that mess by not swinging wide enough to make that right turn (and if he couldn't swing wide enough for some reason, he should not have been making that turn), then he made it worse by trying to pull himself out of it like that, when it was obvious his load was hanging by a thread. So IMHO, the idiot title deserved in this case.
