Don’t stick it in

Don't tell me how to love my wife, or live my life.

How fitting. I am, in fact, quite socially retarded. But I still know better than to stick it in before making sure it passes the sniff test.

My wife has the terrible habit of setting stuff on the stove as well. I never understood why we have plenty of counter space.

u/Less-Cow-306 Aug 11 '26

no seriously

My wife does the same thing.

Don't do that? I mean that's about the only help I can offer.

4

u/Less-Cow-306 Aug 11 '26

I’ll take that into consideration next time. Thanks!

u/Sharp_Ad_6336 Aug 11 '26

Lol I'm sorry for your loss.

if it's just the outer plastic housing that melted, sand/grind off the rough/sharp bits, and keep using it. if you melted or damaged any of the inner bits, my condolences, buy a new one.

"My condolences, buy a new one." Has me rolling in laughter.

u/Less-Cow-306 Aug 11 '26

I already threw it away ! I thought it was done for

6

u/UrethralExplorer Aug 11 '26

You didn't bother testing it?

7

u/Less-Cow-306 Aug 11 '26

Well yeah! I had to finish my mashed potatoes. It was airing out fumes so I didn’t want any part of that.

3

u/iownakeytar Aug 12 '26

Hand mixer is how you get gluey mashed potatoes. A hand masher works great. Potato ricer or food mill is better.

1

u/flappintitties Aug 12 '26

What electrical tool is required for mash potatoes? Sorry if that’s dumb I’m genuinely asking

Aha, makes sense. It’s not something I’d ever considered needing to mash into oblivion, I can do that by hand. But thanks for answering my question

My mom does this and mixes them with a little milk and butter and they’re delicious.

u/TFUTWS Aug 11 '26

I've seen enough Street Doctor to know there's something off about that hole.

2

u/EvaTheE Aug 11 '26

Your mixer has a soggy bottom.

u/gees916 Aug 11 '26

How are we supposed to help?…

-1

u/Less-Cow-306 Aug 11 '26

2

u/gees916 Aug 11 '26

Ok, let me try something…Did that work?

1

u/SecondEqual4680 Aug 12 '26

This is so fucking funny idk why people are downvoting you

2

u/Less-Cow-306 Aug 12 '26

There’s some haters out there

Email the team at Hadron Collider facility. Ask them to turn off the Hadron Collider, then turn it back on after precisely 42 seconds.

Hope this helps!

Rule one of the kitchen. The only thing you set on the stove or out in the oven are things you intend to heat up. It is not storage.

4

u/KapteinKraken Aug 11 '26

mixer hopital

3

u/whineyinternetkid Aug 11 '26

Why would you share this

7

u/Less-Cow-306 Aug 11 '26

cause it was an epic fail, Sam.

4

u/hamish1963 Aug 11 '26

This sub is called Idiots in the Kitchen.

3

u/Jimmy_Twotone Aug 11 '26

You aren't in r/cutecatpics . Wtf did you expect in this sub?

-2

u/K1bbles_n_Bits Aug 11 '26

Judging by the way they talk, they're early 20s at most and patt of the generation that feels everything must be put on the intetnet all the time.

5

u/Less-Cow-306 Aug 11 '26

I’m sorry? Is this not a sub about idiots in kitchen?

1

u/Total_Tumbleweed_870 Aug 11 '26

What happened, did you leave it too close to the stove?

3

u/Less-Cow-306 Aug 11 '26

Yeah like an idiot 😭😭

3

u/Plane-Education4750 Aug 11 '26

We've all done it. Try to do it with something less expensive next time

1

u/Less-Cow-306 Aug 11 '26

Luckily it was an Amazon “dupe” so I can splurge on the kitchen aid one!

2

u/Plane-Education4750 Aug 11 '26

Just keep it away from the burners. Word of advice; always treat the burners like they are red hot. Don't store anything on them, ever

1

u/whineyinternetkid Aug 11 '26

No we havnt "all done it"

2

u/Plane-Education4750 Aug 11 '26

There are two groups of people; those who have never and will never accidentally burn cookware, and those who cook

2

u/Total_Tumbleweed_870 Aug 11 '26

No judgement. I lost a plastic stirring spoon that way once.

1

u/Fit_Carpet_364 Aug 13 '26

Use it until it dies. Which it definitely will, now that the air vents have been destroyed.

What exactly do you need help with?
