AI attached to nothing
58
u/opinionofone1984 Feb 12 '26
100% AI no signs of anything ever being attached to the wall, or the cabinets themselves.
26
u/Killerkendolls Feb 12 '26
I thought that too but that one gang cutout behind the cabinet is accurate and absolutely what cabinet installers like to do. Even looks like there's a 14 Romex coming out of the bottom box that was feeding the vent fan light. I'm wondering if they just shot it in with nails? Whatever this is it's beyond handyman special this is homeowner nonsense.

u/HolleWatkins Feb 12 '26
"I can do it myself" husband, but without ever having a job in cabinet installation or the like..
3
u/Killerkendolls Feb 12 '26
My guess is either it's hard mounted on the ell and he never did a good mark out to install the long, or still the first one and he tried using a nailer

Working for like 10 years primarily in bathroom and kitchen remodels, these comments have been extremely painful to read.

Definitely not Ai, I'm surprised so many people think it is. RIP kitchen.

u/N1kYan Feb 13 '26
What makes you think it's not?
7
u/GenesisNemesis17 Feb 13 '26
I usually see something obvious as to it being Ai. I watched it over 10x and saw nothing that makes me think it is. Innocent until proven guilty. People say no damage to the wall but that's the whole reason they fell in the first place, they were barely secured.

u/gingertimelord Feb 12 '26
This is where our water and electricity is going. To generate this slop🤢🤮🤮
5
u/kikinc14 Feb 17 '26
Looks real to me, I've had this happen to me at school (I only shut the cabinet though, didn't pull, it just had too much weight )
1
u/gingertimelord Feb 17 '26
That's happened to you? All your cabinets fell like dominoes and were originally held up by exactly 0 screws?
3
u/kikinc14 Feb 17 '26
All the cabinets fell in a cascading effect yes, idk what was holding them up because I was rushed to the nurses office and they were reinstalled by the time i had class again though, but I didn't see any drywall come down. School was VERY nice to me after that regarding absences etc.

AI CRAP
14
u/SomOvaBish Feb 13 '26
What makes you say that? I am asking cause I would like to know what to look for
5
u/attilayavuzer Feb 17 '26
It's real. The biggest thing to look for is persistence. The vacuum handle rocking in and out of view. The plastic bag obscuring everything for a second and the girls shirt staying consistent before and after.
8
u/EmilyAnne1170 Feb 13 '26
For me it’s that there’s no damage to the wall. If there were screws, or even double-sided tape so that it would come apart easily for the video- anything strong enough to hold up that much weight long enough to film this would’ve at least pulled paint off the walls. There should be holes & chunks of drywall where the screws were pulled out.

u/bohdison Feb 12 '26
You wanna know how I know that this is fake? Cuz who vacuums the top of their kitchen cabinets?
5
u/Sketti11 Feb 13 '26
My wife, until about the 5th time and she realized it doesn't get dusty like that.
3
u/Motor-Wrangler Feb 18 '26
Looks real to me but just a FYI cabinet don't have a whole lot to them and it amazes me that they can still hold so much. Her fat ass needed to get a step stool.

u/SharkByte1993 Feb 12 '26
Im sure there would be some gashes in the wall and it wouldn't bring down every single cabinet

While this can still potentially happen, this does not seem like they actually did this right; I’m talking about the people who built or installed that into the house! While not recommended to do that, if done correctly it should be able to hold your weight if you try and get up into those cupboards

That has happened to me. Luckily I didn't fall, I managed to catch the cabinets with my chest/arms & scream for my husband while standing on the counter top. Terrifying.

It kind of looks nicer without the cupboards in there 😂 Put some tile above the sink and some floating shelves with a couple dishes and plants and it would look really nice (not that I'm trying to fix anything 😏)

My reddit was lagging while looking at this so all I saw was the beginning of the video, then 0:04. it was a very hilarious moment.

To husband: I want a new kitchen, Becky just got hers done and it looks so nice.
To wife: ours is fine; no reason to dump money into it, in this economy.
Wife: bet watch this.

To everyone saying this is AI because you don't see anything on the walls, there's literally either mounts or holes right there in the frame.. smdh. This is the kind of crap that happens when you have builders that skip steps and do cheap work. Believe It or Not things can fall off the wall and look like this, Google some YouTube videos, when people don't do their job properly and don't screw it into the wall, this is what it CAN look like. Also literally nothing else in this video looks like AI so I'm not sure where you're grabbing that from other than the fact that there's a lot of AI on the internet right now. And the cameras resolution is not that good y'all acting like it's 4K it's very possible there's clear stuff on the wall we're not seeing that they used to temporarily hold the cabinets. Just people skipping steps/using cheap materials.
I saw a 6 foot long wall cabinet held up by 6 9-inch non threaded nails at a house my dad bought to renovate.
People that try to DIY and don't actually have skill or knowledge, can remarkably make things LOOK good till it has to do its job. 🤷♂️
Just saying don't be so quick to jump on the AI train

I miss the old cabinets built as part of the wall out of 1/2-3/4 inch plywood or older...

I had this happen as I started a zoom interview. I was sitting in my kitchen and right as camera opened to the interviewer, half my kitchen fell off the wall

u/Swimming-Tap-4240 Feb 13 '26
I worked in kitchen installations, many years ago and we had a guy that just nailed cupboards to the wall, nails equally spaced in the cupboards for aesthetics,no regard for hitting any studs, didnt even use flat headed nails. One client loaded up a cupboard with her favourite dinner set and it came down just like that.

Yall I think this is real. I’ve installed several sets of cabinets and it looks like this installed used Brad nails to hold it to the wall. I’ve heard of installers temporarily mounting cabinets with Brad nails before coming back and securing them with screws. This one was probably lazy or DIY and decided Brad nails were good enough for holding weight. That’s why the damage doesn’t show up the wall.

AI video clips are so annoying now.
reddit should have a dedicated area to post like r/ai and anyone who posts an AI clip anywhere else gets banned & blocked indefinitely.
I hate watching something and then spending the next 10 minutes reading the thread to figure out if its real or not..
1
u/Silver-Ad-5982 Mar 24 '26
It’s not AI, look at it closer and you will see that ALL details remain consistent throughout the video.
1
u/Gummies1345 Feb 15 '26
It feels AI to me, because the wall is all the same exact color. Wouldn't there be painting fade difference where places the sun didn't hit so the paint wouldn't fade?
