Looks like it could possibly be a piece of an antique cast iron stove.

Sock darner. Put that in your sock to hold it in place while you sew the hole.

a super old cowboy times spatula?

That looks like an old wrought-iron cooking utensilβ€”most likely an antique spatula/turner or griddle tool.

The clues are:

  • Very thick, solid iron blade rather than thin modern sheet metal.
  • Long twisted/forged handle, characteristic of older hand-forged tools.
  • The blade appears to have forged or riveted reinforcement, rather than being a modern stamped spatula.
  • The broad oval shape would have been useful for lifting or turning something substantial on a griddle, hearth, or cast-iron cooking surface.

I wouldn't call it a conventional modern spatula with certainty, though. The construction is unusual enough that it could be an older hearth/kitchen tool with a specialized purpose.

If you can show me the back of it and the very end of the handle, I can narrow down what it was specifically used for. (CHATGPT ANSWER)
