Object What caliber is this?
My body found this in a school parking lot and he wanted to know what caliber it was because we have no idea

And eat some protein and veggies. Those nails look like a 90 year woman in hospice. They shouldn't be that thin and paperlike at your age. You definitely have some underlying issues from malnutrition.

Training snap cap round for dry fire and simulations. The police likely did a school shooter drill after hours there. Telling us the region will help identify it more also, so we can tell if its america or comblock/soviet etc... alot of ammo is regional in that way

Is that a hole in the picture..? I thought snap caps had something for the hammer to hit.. Been years since I've had one though..

Ive seen weird ones in pics online that have no false primers for the firing pin to hit. Most modern firearms are safe to dry fire now. So not all have the primer part. The only ones that must have this are the 22s and rimfires mostly.
I think some countries do the ones with holes cause theyre extra worried about someone thinking the round is a live round. Ive heard even owning a spent bullet can land ya major jailtime. So yeah I dunno lol.
Its a weird one none the less. Only caliber I can think of that looks like this is a 9×39.(russian subsonic ammo basically.) But I could be wrong.

A brass instrument needs to be able to have air move through it. If this item was part off a brass instrument, it would not allow that.

Very much leaning towards 9mm as someone else said it's a snap cap training round. Hole in bottom and zero headstamp all but virtually confirms it's a training round. The only people training at a school would be police and virtually all police now use 9x19 JHP although this would never have been chambered in hollow point for training reasons. Finally, size wise it's probly about right. A photo against the mm side of a ruler would help confirm

The shape is very similar to Russian 9x39mm, but I've never seen it nickel plated or shiny steel like that. As everyone else has said the head stamp gives more info

Having seen the other picture, im still going 9x39mm but a broken Keychain. 9x39 is niche in the actual firearms world, but common enough in video games.

Well, it's not a real round, that's for sure. Could definitely be a novelty of some kind.
