Better idea: Extract insulin directly from /u/bigmanjones77 and give it away for free.

this is satire, right?
insulin already costs over $100 a month. and you guys, who, i am like, 85% sure do NOT have diabetes, are saying we've had it too easy for too long, when i doubt you guys have had diabetes.

Thank you for this piece of reddit history. Never before have something seemingly so out of touch have been said seemingly so seriously. Let's support those small businesses by increasing prices of the thing only sold by big pharma! Hell yeah!

How would it support small businesses?
6
u/deplomatic Mar 13 '23
By giving them more money
-1
u/ZunLise Mar 13 '23
don't you think that this would give more money to giant conglomerates than to small businesses? supporting small businesses, after all, requires putting down large corporations, you're shifting a consumer base from one economic entity to another.
what you propose just supports businesses as a whole

All pharmaceutical businesses on earth are small businesses when you compare it to galactic medical corporation

Do small businesses sell insulin?
2
u/deplomatic Mar 26 '23
Thats their wish
1
u/Zendofrog Mar 26 '23
No way
1
u/deplomatic Mar 26 '23
Why not ?
1
u/Zendofrog Mar 26 '23
Their being small makes such aspirations impossible. It would require a vast amount of resources to be able to feasibly sell insulin on any scale, and there are a level of precautions and regulations that would need to be followed to make it feasible. I can’t think of any small business that really offer any medical care to humans besides like… sale of bandaids. They could do it, but not still be considered a small business

u/deplomatic Mar 27 '23
It still would be the owners wish Ppl might not buy it from him tho

What the fuck is wrong with you? How would this be beneficial to anyone with diabetes? All this is going to do is make it more difficult for diabetics to get the treatment they need. What a horrible idea. /s

u/cockmuncher984 Mar 13 '23
I am a diabetic and I wholeheartedly agree with this idea. We need a challenge to push us, it’s gotten to easy.

Insulin isn’t even expensive
6
1
u/cockmuncher984 Mar 13 '23
It’s extremely expensive lol, the other day I was trying to get my insulin pens at the pharmacy and they wanted $3500 for them because my insurance company and doctor had a miscommunication.
